In a time where local music has become just another thread of fabric in the elongating string of see alike, act alike indie bands, thegoodnight*variety cuts the strand of similarity with a refreshingly original new take on rock music.
Forming in October 2004, band members Sean Cecil, Robert Zona, Chris Norrus, and Mike Knight needed a new take on current music, while searching for a singer, Nina Otera, who regularly hung out with the band, decided to try out for the part. She nailed it in one take with the bands first song written, the morning after effect.

With soft, warm, and inviting vocals, along with a ensamble of pop driven guitars, echoing bass, and a full sound of percussion, thegoodnight*variety brings a flow to your ears that just makes everything feel right. The groups sound is absolutely uncomparable, as the bands two guitarists, Robert Zona, and Sean Cecil, combine a sound of delaying cleans, with lightly distored friendly and catchy, dance-savvy guitar work.
You can ask anyone in the band how they got their sound, it'll take them awhile to inform you, but its all from their love of music, which each member of the band majoring in different classes of music, along with their drive and passion to create someting totally loyal to their listeners ears.

Within the bands first year they've played over 70 shows, sharing the bill with such national acts as, Sherwood, This Providence, My American Heart, Roses are red,The Trophy scars, The Hush Sound, .Thedecember drive and more.
The band has crossed over to other states to play as well, such as neighbooring states Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. Its excitingly stunning how far pure passion, ability, determination, and pride will take a do it yourself band these days on their way to sucess.
