Members: Dominique, Glen, Leah and Kurt
THE GLASS BIO Originally comprised of two members, Dominique Keegan and Glen Brady, The Glass was set up as a studio based production team that evolved into a live band over the past year. The Glass also now features Leah Shapiro on drums and Kap 10 Kurt and on bass. Keegan and Brady, both originally from Dublin, Ireland have been living and working in New York for years. Both were in College in Dublin together where they played in a live seven piece hip hop band with Glen on the mic and Dominique on Bass. (Their roles have now been somewhat reversed, with Dom on vocals and guitar and Glen on beats, keys, backing vocals, guitar, samples and scratches). Both went on to become DJs with Glen winning the Irish DMC championships in 1998 and Dominique throwing the infamous Plant parties in New York from 1997 to the present. Dominique also owns Plant Music and used to own the now defunct Plant Bar in downtown New York. Glen is also the voice and writer/producer behind 'Itchy Revolutions' The Glass was formed by the two in an effort to blend the world of pop and punk vocals and indie dance production. Their first single 'Won't Bother Me' was featured on Dominique's 2003 mix CD 'The Sound of Young New York' and released on Fine/Four Music in September 2004 with a Ralph Lawson remix (Sure shotelectro sinlgle of the week â DJ Mag (UK) and ..4 in Mixmag Electro chart. It has been licensed to many compilations including Dave Seaman's Renaissance Mix and John Digweed's Global Underground mix. The second single 'Hear The Music' got a remix by London's Mylo and was ..17 in UK Buzz Chart. The Glass have completed their studio album and are currently doing live shows in the US with a European tour booked coming in June, including festivals in Ireland and France. Although their sound is based in dance music it has gradually become more punk rock while keeping dance beats a priority. On stage The Glass feature drums, bass, guitars, live samples, scratching, keyboards and vocals. The sets are becoming renowned for being fast paced and extremely entertaining. The Glass will release a vinyl EP on Plant Music in late June 2005 entitled 'Fourteen Again EP'
