Members: Gary Wendt, Seanan Gridley, Sean Haeberman
The Ghost Next Door is a compelling alternative trio fronted by singer/songwriter Gary Wendt. Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, their haunting music conjures feelings of a hopelessness, a love lost, a cage rattled by disappointment and despair. With scathing, forthright lyrics over a deeply melodic, sometimes ethereal soundscape, The Ghost Next Door have dedicated themselves to the unrelenting pursuit of quality in a genre plagued by repetition and lackluster songwriting. Raised in the Bay Area, Gary studied guitar under Joe Satriani. His musical career started with crossover hardcore/metal band Sacrilege BC, with whom he recorded 2 albums with and toured extensively. this was followed by several years with Release, an alternative metal band based in S.F., and a short stint with Skinlab; recording albums with both and touring Europe with the latter. The rhythm section is comprised of the tight-knit musicianship of Seanan James Gridley and Sean Haeberman, on bass and drums, respectively. whereas Seanan's influences lean more towards the funk & rock inspired licks of his predecessors (Flea, Claypool, Geddy Lee), Sean draws inspiration from the old-school approach of classic rock drumming (Bonham, Peart, Danny Carey). Both hail from Central California and have played together in such bands as Roy Did Himself In (RDHI) and Ludo. Since their inception in early 2004, The Ghost Next Door have displayed an uncompromising work ethic, exposing their audience to their expressive take on modern day alternative rock & roll, showing the world that despite the bleak outlook illustrated in their songs there is still promise.
