listen up future fans, we four wearside boys have a new single out this week. We are aiming for the topper most of the popper most!
Put on your dancing shoes and waltz to your local record shop and join the battle for independence! It's just us and you now. Let's put an end to the mediocrity and an end to the major labels ripping bands off. Again and again and again and again.
Thanks again. B x

Hello
..:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />
I just thought i'd let you all know how things are going in the Futurehead camp as of (insert date). It's been a while since my last contact, we have all been very busy (and very to glad to be so), so I feel like I start by saying a few words on 'I can feel it, I can feel it, I ca.........TWIST!'
We are so happy with the response to Twist, thanks to all of that bought it, you helped us hold our own against Girls Allowed, Leona Lewis and pop midget gem, Kylie. We needed you lot to get behind the song and you really did so thanks once again. It has also managed to become our biggest radio hit to date, it's had bloody hundreds of plays in the UK and for the first time ever we have a song that has been playlisted in Australia. This is thrilling for us. The Artwork for the single is the first in a series based around the theme of, wait for it, 'tin foil'. The design for Radio Heart is a little more funny than the magnified metal creases on 'Twist', sorry to call it by just one word, it's pretty 'industry', I know, but I just can't help it. I've been institutionalised by the music biz. We really hope you like the art work for the singles and more importantly the album, we are over the moon with the way it looks. Definately our most attractive album to date. It's as sharp as a dart, and the concept came from Dave which in my mind makes it even better. Steve Gullick took the snaps and once again he has done splendid job. What a guy.
So it seems that our first attempt to be a record label worked out! Fancy that eh? I find that mental to be honest with you, seeing 'Nul Records' sitting in the charts with every major label under the sun was never even a day dream then suddenly it was more than a possibility, it was actually happening. Haha, I love the complete utter cheek of it, superb fun. It's great start for us this year, thanks again.
As I said before we are very busy, we've all got lots on, Ross is getting the next release together for his label, Dave is making a solo album, Jaff just got a new puppy and muggins Barry here is getting married in a few months. HELP!. Only joking Laura, oops, I'm going to get in trouble for saying that. We are playing T in the Park, which is the day before I get hitched, or should I say lynched. Oops done it again. I think it'll be class to play a big festival the day before your wedding, the other guys think I'm a lunatic like but i think it'll be a good way to prepare for the marriage. The audience at T has always been amazing for us, I think this will be our fourth time there. What a weekend that will be.
We have also managed to get on the bill for Glasto, well chuffed about that one. A tricky one and we are going on second last on the John Peel Tent on the same day as Jay-Z. The most controversial Glasto headliner of all time. I'm a fan but I thought it was an odd choice. some of my friends were livid about it. I think it could be really good.
Played a gig in Sunderland last night, absolutely loved every minute of it. Nice One Sunderland!
Thanks again

...starts today!
So then people, what are you all doing today? I'll tell you what: you're all gonna go to the shops and buy our lovely new single 'THE BEGINNING OF THE TWIST'...
Two vinyls and one cd are out today (get them all for £3 from thefutureheads.com, along with the downloadable version and 10 live versions of the song recorded at different cities on our most recent tour (available from thefutureheads.com. So if you came to see us in Barrow in Furness and want to know if you can hear yourself singing along in the background - get it downloaded!!
Other than the single, you can catch us performing 'instore' at HMV Newcastle today, Birmingham tomorrow and Manchester Wednesday. Also, we are playing the barfly in Birmingham tomorrow.
If you're in Sunderland this afternoon we're signing records in the bridges' HMV...
So, that's all the news, lets shove it in the face of 679 and Buggs Bunny and prove you can make good music without major label influence.

Hello Mr Barrington Hydeous here,
I just wanted to drop a line to let you know the general feelings in the Futureheads camp at the minute. I'm sending this from the Glasgow branch of Futureheads inc., we decided to establish something on the otherside of the great border to strengthen our defences, Wales is next..... eventually the rest of the world!........................... WHAT ON EARTH AM I GOING ON ABOUT! Sorry about that I was stuck in somebody else's life for a moment. Who am I? Where am I? I don't care and you know why? Because I'm enjoying some post-wearside-bliss, 'what's that?' you say?, i'll tell you. P.W.B is a rare but wonderful condition, it happens to the lucky few who get to experience the miracles of a Sunderland crowd two nights in a row, on Thusday and Friday last week, we The Futureheads caught a massive dose of the bugger and we are still feeling the effects, in all of our years we haven't been lucky enough to get it. The gigs were so good that we all floated to our relative homes and slept deep tranquil sleeps filled with dreams of Seaburn Beach, The Sunderland Empire and Penshaw Monument. Thank you so much to each and every member of the audience for giving us the best homcoming gigs a band could ask for, you really did excel yourselves! It blew our minds. Over the past few years we haven't done many gigs in the land of sunder, I'm sure a few of you would have been annoyed that we chose to play in Newcastle over Sunderland, it wasn't the case, we had no choice as there wasn't really any venues in Sunderland for us to play in. Well now there is and we will play every chance we get, I want us to organise a Futurefest II somewhere in town, perhaps in Mowbray Park on the bandstand! Thanks agian. B x

Hey up y'all,
Just a quick hello from me, in light of last week's London show, and Saturday's punk-rock marathon in Mexico City (cheers to all of those that made it to either show).
But that's all in the past now, because I've got some exciting shit to tell you about 2008! January, to be more exact. That's right. The Christmas Dinner will have hardly been digested but on Jan 16th we are hitting the road for our first UK tour in over a year! It's a UniLive thing, so we're mostly rocking the house in venues we've never played before, and, seeing as the record still won't be out by then, we'll be keeping it nice and intimate in an extended tribute to the success of the King's College show last week.
We're chomping at the bit to get back out there and play these tunes every night, and we'll be making sure that a few of the songs that seemed to have been banished to the 'never again' pile may make a re-appearance. This tour will be 'purely belter', as they say in our neck of the woods, so please do everyone a favor, and get involved with a ticket or two when they go on sale this Wednesday (December 5th 2007).
The dates are:
16/01 Union of Brunel Students - The Academy (18+)
17/01 University of Hertfordshire Students' Union - The Font (18+)
18/01 Warwick Students' Union - The Marketplace (14+)
19/01 Loughborough Students' Union - Room 1 (14+)
21/01 Hull University Union - Asylum (18+)
22/01 Liverpool Guild of Students - Stanley Theatre (14+)
23/01 Preston - 53Degrees (18+ / Photo ID Required)
24/01 Strathclyde Students' Union - Level 8 (18+)
26/01 University of Sheffield Union of Students - Foundry (14+)
27/01 Leeds University Union - Mine (18+ / Photo ID Required)
28/01 Norwich The Waterfront (14+)
29/01 Bournemouth Students' Union - The Old Fire Station (18+)
Tickets will be posted on thefutureheads.com prior to the onsale time.
You can also enjoy footage of us blasting through 'Broke Up The Time' in rehearsals for the fan-club gigs a few weeks back. Similarly lo-fi as the studio footage used to accompany the track last month, more and more of these DIY videos will be made available over the coming weeks.
Ok folks, that's all for now, I'm currently bed-ridden in Mexico after a nasty case of exploding guts I'm sure there's a medical term for it.
See you shortly!
