Bio
The Frames, an alternative folk rock band hailing from Ireland, was started in 1989 by frontman Glen Hansard. At the time, the band was signed to the famous Island record label, but shortly after releasing 1992's Another Love Song, they were dropped. The Frames went on to release Fitzcarraldo independently a few years later and were quickly signed to ZTT Records, where they also released 1998's Dance the Devil.... After this, the band returned to their roots by recording 2001's lo-fi For the Birds, which was a "record that didn't in some way or other have to cater to people outside of the band". It became their first platinum record, and is arguably their best work yet. In 2005, Burn the Maps, their fifth studio album was their first to be released internationally. It is available in all good record stores across America.
