In a music scene increasingly filled with bands looking to the security of pigeon-holing themselves to a specific genre and mimicing the sound of the moment, The Final Sigh are a breath of fresh air in their determination to forge their own path. Unconcerned by the traditional expectations of what a "metal" band should be, the band continue to push the borders of what can be created and recreated in a musical environment. The Final Sigh is a project in which every composition is a carefully crafted work flowing seamlessly between driving riffs and relaxed melody, from walls of noise to subtly layered ambient breaks.
Formed in 2003, The Final Sigh's journey has seen the band establish themselves as a formidable force on the underground scene, self-releasing a number of EPs, including a split with Copro's RSJ, before a Stateside appearance on Rotting Corpse Records' Raw Aggression compilation and the 2005 release of debut album "If You're Not Part Of The Solution, You're Part Of The Problem" through Anticulture Records to critical acclaim in both mainstream and underground media and leading to Metal Hammer's profiling of the band.
The Final Sigh are also no strangers to the live circuit, with multiple UK tours under their belts, including hitting the road as main support for Horse The Band's 2006 "Mechanical Hand" tour. The band has also been seen sharing a stage with, amongst others, The Blueprint, Cephalic Carnage, God Forbid, Caliban, Beecher, American Head Charge, Enter Shikari, Bring Me The Horizon and The Letters Organize.
The band are currently in the studio working on tracks for the first of two new releases in 2007 and appearing around the country in preparation for May's UK tour with Stand-Up Guy.
"The Final Sigh at least have the good grace to sound as though they are actually dangerous...the prospects for UK mathcore seem very rosy indeed." - METAL HAMMER
"The Final Sigh are notably accomplished, pulling off sophisticated riffing and rhythmic spazz-offs with confidence and precision" - TERRORIZER
