A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM THE ESOTERIC...
Hello friends, it has been a little bit since you last heard from us and with the New Year beginning, we thought it would be a good time to make our communiqu and let you know what has been happening in the ESO camp these last few weeks.
As many of you may have heard, Cory White decided to leave his post as one of THE ESOTERICs guitarists late last year for personal reasons. Additionally, but separately, we have decided to replace drummer Marshall Kilpatric, who relocated to Los Angeles last fall to further pursue his personal musical journey. Our partings are mutual and amicable and we wish our friends nothing but the best of luck in their future endeavors.
This band is a living, breathing entity, and in the life of a band that makes music for musics sake, change is an undeniable part of evolution. It is in this spirit that we are excited to announce the return of our former bandmate, Adam Hammerlord Mitchell, to the percussion seat. Adam is both a prodigious musician and collaborator as well as an accomplished performer who helped the band forge a unique place in underground music during his time with THE ESOTERIC on his contributions to the benchmark A Reason To Breathe album as well as a vast majority of the bands pioneering back catalog.
We regret these changes forced us to cancel some dates late last year and are eager to get back on the road to support our new album Subverter. We have many things in the works for bringing the rock to you in 2007, including the announcement of a new guitarist, our first-ever trip North to our friends in Canada this spring and a HUGE US tour with one of our all-time idols!
While weve been quiet, we have also been very busy brushing up on some ESO classics for the live set and putting together some special releases for the new year, including a vinyl version of Subverter, our contributions to the EYEHATEGOD and HUM tribute records, a completely revisited release of A Reason to Breathe featuring all the tracks from the original session (some of which have never seen the light of day) as well as finalizing a tracklisting for our 29-song discography of out-of-print, rare and unreleased early recordings!
The new year promises to be a very busy and exciting one for THE ESOTERIC and we WILL be seeing all of you again very soon!
