The Dramadies are a four-piece rock band from Exeter, New Hampshire. Young, talented and enthusiastic, they play raw, honest music that has been described as reminiscent of Heart, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Animals and Strawberry Alarm Clock.
Lead singer Chelsea Paolini (The Free Refills), is also the bands guitarist and songwriter. Paolinis playing is astonishing, even more so when you consider shes still in high school. She was awarded Best Guitarist at The Milford Battle of the Bands, while her band The Free Refills won Best Band. The contest was judged by WFNX radio personalities and local recording professionals.
Bassist Greg Baldi (Skamasutra) and drummer Evan Lerch (Skamasutra) have opened for major acts including The Toasters, The Slackers and Streetlight Manifesto while playing with Skamasutra.
The band is rounded out by talented keyboardist Tom Power (The Free Refills).
-The Dramadies recently finished first at the Exeter Battle of the Bands and second at the Chester College Battle of the Bands, finishing ahead of older, more experienced bands at both events.
-The Dramadies were recently honored to be name the new house band at Plaistows The Sad Caf.
- WSCA radio in Portsmouth, NH broadcast a one hour live on-air performance by The Dramadies.
- NH Edge Internet Radio recently recorded The Dramadies live at The Red Door in Portsmouth and featured their music in a podcast.
... Exeter High School's anachronistic wunderkind, The Dramadies. A four-piece dedicated to capital "R" Rock 'n' Roll, the band channeled an era when arena rock could still deliver emotion, before it devolved into full blown hair metal. This moment in musical culture actually took place a decade before most of the band was born, but The Dramadies proved they have the chops to transcend the novelty of their age. Singer and guitarist Chelsea Paolini, still in 10th grade, showed off not only an ability to play her instrument but to perform for and engage an audience. -Erik Salvaggio, The Wire
"(The Dramadies) have been receiving some well deserved buzz as of late for winning a number of different Battle of the Bands competitions throughout New Hampshire. And Im a sucker for a female front-women (Chelsea Paolini) who can not only sing and sway but plays some pretty impressive lead guitar."
-Laurel Brauns, The Red Door, Portsmouth, NH
"If you hadn't slipped and said you were in high school nobody out there in the audience would believe you guys were in high school." -Steve Capron, WSCA 106.1 Portsmouth
"Outstanding classic sound with a modern twist. Kick-ass musicianship. Great vibe all-in-all." -Tim Deal, NH Edge Radio
