Well it's been a while folks...
The Den have all been otherwise engaged for the last few months but things are beginning to heat up!!
The Den are finally getting out on the road and playing live for all you shed collectors out there. Our first foray into live music shall take place at the Tarbert Folk Festival. All the band will be there plus a huge entourage of adoring fans (we hope) If you want to join us just bring a tent and enjoy the party!!! The festival is free and takes place from the 14-16th of September.
Next up we have another spectacular gig. The Den shall play London on the 28th of September. We will be supporting Tom Hingley of Inspiral Carpets fame @ Dirty South, Leiwisham, London. The band have a ticket allocation of 50 so if your interested in coming drop us a message or email. Tickets are priced at 6 quid so won't break the bank to see one of your favourite bands first gigs.
The band will be meeting up for a week before the Tarbert gig so expect some new tunes to be cranked out inbetween the practise sessions!!!

There will be plans in the near future for somemore jamming time and hopefully good things will come!!! Watch this space..!

Dearest Info-bahn Chums,
2007 has come hurtling towards us like a marauding bubble of uncertainty. We've almost reached the 400 number in friends. Hazard!! I cry. At least, when all the world is losing its minds, there is a glint of something that tastes like cherries. Other than cherry-flavored drinks and candy.
I come with tidings. The waxing and waning moons have presented The Den Collective with another oppurtunity to smother you delicious people and your music playing software with new material. Mon dieu!! I hear you rasp from your already joy-cracked throats.
Overcome your awe for a moment. I'd like to thank you all for sticking with us and being around in 2006. It's been spectacular.
Molto Liebe compadrs!!!!
Eternally Yours,
Andy

Well finally. We've managed to complete the two albums we've had in the working for just under a year. 'Acoustic Sessions' is ...well as it says. Our more chilled out and rock out..heh...aye, something like that. 'Jiggery Pokery 303' is our dance album, with some strange tracks indeed. We have also finished off the artwork for both front and back sleeves (viewable in our photos). Thanks for the support from everyone and we shall continue again!

After not recording for many months The Den Collective have gotten back together for a short time in order to finish off some songs and develop new strange and wonderful ideas. Working hard and producing 5 tunes within a week, the den collective establishing an equilibrium between their music and actually sleeping. Oh god how good does that bed look now.
Firstly started off with 'Acid Funk Tube', a collection of sounds which make me still feel a bit queasy. Still being debated whether its sega or nintendo, this tune is home to the illustrious half armed, half naked, pissed off looking, mean mofo. That chick wants revenge I tell ya.
Next on the cards came 'r equals' which is a one of our more faster songs. The piano was recorded on smy's out of tune upright many months ago, with none other than smy on the keys. Once completed we devised a mathematical equation to what r equals. R, which can be worked out, equals the following equation.
r = [(Sin56 x 180) +25] + x
The only unknown value, being x, can also be derived if r is known.
A few hours sleep later, 'Skinhead Blues' was begining to take form from an old loop made years ago and which was titled nintendo blues. Thinkin not much of it, a guitar part was written and recorded with this loop and piece by piece it was built up to what you have before you today. With an outregous middle eight, it looks to hit new boundries and grind them to dust.
As the guitar vibes were flowing nicely we decided to hit a tune we had written awhile ago with smy and the rest of em. 'Pictures' is one of our downtempo numbers which would bring a tear the softer of hearts. Quite alot different from how it originally sounded, but nonetheless...not too shabby.
The next tune titled, 'Threepwoods Memo to the Musically Gifted' is probably one of our more serious tunes...heh. Well some of it. Extremely chilled out and even lazy in parts, threepwoods always suprises me, even now when I hear it. Again following what we call 'The Formula', although not to be confused with the equation for r, we strive to give just enough change to make you go....huh? I think deciding on a name took longer than making the actual tune, till we eventually came upon it. The key is in the middle eight. Anyone wanna be a pirate?
The peak of this wave of musical flow ended this week with 'Phenomenology'. Probably released at the wrong time, it still stands nonetheless as one of our best chilled techno tracks. Classic 80's drums every now and again, mmmmmm, I think i can see a beach.....and theres pie for everyone.
'Mr Mister Johnny Cash' took sooooo much longer to do than any other song....singers..pfft. Funny its the shortest track on the listing heh. This tune was done with a good mate of ours, Gaza. Aimed to sound sorta old fashioned, and a tribute to the man, its soothing to the mind.
Still got another week left so expect a few more tracks to show up. Looking forward to working with Mike again and not to mention smy, heh. So its off back to the guitar and such to prune a few more ideas that are floatin around the den collective proximity. As they say....Don't take no skinheads bowling.

Thundercats HO
HAwl... Thundercats HO. Some nice pleasant furry
electonic noises. They dwell in my head and pleasure
me. Is there an echo? I think i can see your skull and
you think you\'re cool. saddam grooves to the beat, a
bear falls over. You\'re mistaken, but alas... it\'s
all just give and take.
