Some bands become an institution after a ten year run. So bands become more of an outhouse. After 10 years, the cinderleaf has become more of a convenience store. In the immortal words of an well known English proverb: "All good things must come to an end." "the" end? Probably not. But another chapter of rock history has closed with a happy ending. Press Release: It is with great sadness that RawkShow Entertainment must announce that the Cinderleaf have decided that October 15th will be their final show. The show, at Sanctuary nightclub, will feature extended set featuring songs from each of the Cinderleaf's five full-length CD releases. Also scheduled for the raucous final show are San Antonio Legends Sun-Day, Militia Group recording artists the Panic Division and San Antonio alt-rockers Ledaswan, with up-and-coming locals favorite Doom to Bloom opening. The Cinderleaf was formed in 1995 here in San Antonio, Texas. Since its inception, the Cinderleaf have been playing to capacity audiences all across Texas. They have opened for several national recording acts such as The Toadies, Jimmy Eat World, Alien Ant Farm, At the Drive-In, Frank Black and many more. The Cinderleaf has four full-length releases, as well as several EP's to their credit. The Cinderleaf in fact were finalizing recording to release yet another full-length CD, to be titled Avalanche, when this decision was made. October 15th at the Sanctuary nightclub will actually be a farewell show and an anniversary show, as it will mark the ten-year anniversary of the first concert ever played by the the Cinderleaf. They played their first show at the long-defunct bar Doza's with the bands Thirteen and the Mapelhelm. You can further pursue your unbridled love for the cinderleaf by supporting Jason Stiles and his current band Zapanther by visiting www.myspace.com/jasonstiles. We're going to keep this site open as an homage or memorial or whatever you call it when something dies. Eventually, most of the songs of the newest unreleased record "Avalanche" will be available for download at your disposal. That is all.
