Colabuono- you were killed a cat because you were mad? What, are you two? Nice, maybe you should pull back on the tunes for a bit and chill out. PUBLISHED IN chicagobreakingnews.com Arlington Heights man charged with killing ex's kitten August 17, 2009 12:44 PM | 1 Comment A 25-year-old Arlington Heights man was ordered held on bond today after he allegedly killed his ex-girlfriend's 4-month-old kitten by throwing it to the floor of his home over the weekend, Arlington Heights police said. Kevin Colabuono of the 2100 block of South Goebbert Road was arrested and charged Sunday with aggravated cruelty to an animal, a felony, said Arlington Heights Police Sergeant Michael Shabez. A Cook County judge today ordered Colabuono held on a $10,000 bond, said Shabez. He was required to post 10 percent of the bond and he did, Shabez said. Police were called to the home about 1:09 p.m. Sunday after the man's ex-girlfriend returned to the home and suspected that her kitten "Riley" had been killed, Shabez said. The woman had broken up with Colabuono a week earlier and left their apartment during that time. When she returned to the home Sunday, she was told by Colabuono that her kitten had died without being given the circumstances of the death, Shabez said. The woman suspected Colabuono may have killed the kitten and called police, Shabez said. Colabuono told police he had been angry about the breakup and with the kitten after it urinated on a carpet in the apartment. He told police that on Saturday, he killed the kitten by grabbing it with both his hands and throwing it onto the floor, Shabez said. The man then wrapped the kitten's body in plastic and discarded it in a garbage dumpster, Shabez said. Another cat, which belonged to Colabuono's, was taken to an animal shelter, Shabez said. Colabuono's next court date was set for Sept. 17 at the Rolling Meadows courthouse Aug 17
