A bit about us:
The Blessing are four seasoned musicians who have played with bands such as Portishead, Goldfrapp and Peter Gabriel who are producing some of the edgiest and freshest jazz/rock around at the moment. They first started playing together around 5 years ago, brought together by a shared love of improvisation, and quickly developed a unique style. With gigs all over their native Bristol they have earned some rave reviews and as they start to spread their wings their following is beginning to grow.
Inspired by cordless quartets such as Ornette Colmans 60s band their music is all original and utilised the raw electric bass with simple snappy arrangements. The idea was to truly improvise rather than to rely upon a coasting rhythm section. The result ranges from cutting edge to catchy but never restricted.
