The Big Idea is a four-piece rock-and-roll band from Boston. They cover music that ranges from funk to blues; from classic rock to alternative. The Big Idea also boasts a repertoire of well-written original music. The 13th Annual Billboard World Songwriting Contest recognized The Big Idea's "Blue Ruin Boundaries" with Honerable Mention. The band has played at many local Boston venues including Dick's Last Resort, O'Brian's Pub, The Point, Kinsale, The Times, Coyote Ugly, McGann's, Johnny D's, The Draft, Porter Belly's, and Wonderbar along with many venues in other parts of the U.S. The Big Idea's members consist of Mike Perreault, Evan Kraker, Ben Kogan, and Neil Saber.

Mike Perreault is the lead singer and rhythm guitar player. After studying Sound Engineering at the University of Hartford, Mike began his career in the music industry at Bergsten Music. With Bergsten, he has worked professionally with a broad range of acts ranging from James Brown to the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He has performed with several Boston area bands: Premiere, Fever Pitch, and Fight The Nothing.

Evan Kraker, the drummer of The Big Idea, began playing in orchestras at the age of twelve and continued on to a progressive-rock jam band throughout high school. He then attended Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, where he minored in music. After college, he moved to Boston where he began playing in several bands such as The Vital Might and The Colt Thompson Project before joining up with The Big Idea.

Ben Kogan is the band's bass player. After playing in local jazz clubs in his teens, he decided to pursue a career in music by attending the prestigious Phillip Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. After receiving his bachelor of music degree, he chose to follow his true passion, rock-and-roll, in Boston. Some notable credits include touring with The Skinny, recording with The Madison Project, as well as playing in other well-known rock bands in Boston.

Neil Saber is the lead guitar player of The Big Idea. Playing in local rock and blues bands such as Premiere and Prophet, he found his way into the Boston music scene opening up for many well-known bands such as Dispatch. After studying guitar performance at the Berklee School of Music in Boston, Neil continued to play around the Boston area. He thrives on his funky, bluesy guitar style along with his stage energy.
