From Edmonton, AB, The Ailing is a band based around simplicity in a musical world where progressive, multi-layered soundscapes are the new black. Shunning conglomerated balls of textured instrumental dexterity in favor of simplistic methods of musical communication, The Ailing play acoustic music from the heart.

In fact, the only complex thing about The Ailing is its foundations. Founded by two members with VERY different musical tastes, a common ground was found in their love of simplistic, beautiful music, with more emphasis on emotional messages than frantic musical prowess.

The early days of TA's existence will more than likely include covers by artists we admire/enjoy/are inspired by, including to date Jeff Buckley & Iron and Wine. However, the plan is not to remain solely a cover band, but to explore our musical interiors and write our own music.
