Hi, I'm just a girl outtah Tx looking to put some music out. After a long leave of absence fr/ the music scene, and a failed attempt to start something new, I recently decided to do everything myself. Around X-Mas '05 I bought new recording gadgets...as a way to get my ideas down; so, that's why the songs up are not great as far as sound quality goes. I'm a newbie to the production side of things (isuck!), but definately having fun with it. After getting a solid set of songs, I'd like to record in a studio. Until then, I am just writing, writing, writing, and hopefully you'll keep checkin back for new songs!

Songs and Lyrics

I'm in the experimental stage right now...I have a habit of recording, loving a song then a few days later hating it...and erasing it fr/ the playlist. So sometimes you might find the same lyrics, but w/ a totally different song. If it's up there for more than two weeks, that means it's there to stay. ;]

Update: I'd like to re-record "Art of You" ... and get another old song posted. It's just lacking different instruments [which i don't have]. It sounds best w/ a full band, but I don't want to half-ass it and ruin the song. So before the year is over I want to get that done. Fingers crossed!

What's up with your genres?

You're probably thinking ... emo ? acoustic ? where ?

Well basically to fill you in, I'm working on some acoustic stuff ... strictly acoustic. Before now, I was recording on the cheapest most generic recorder ever, then January '06 my new "toys" arrived and yes ... I do admit I got a little carried away. The sampler was just so new to me, it looked so complex, I didn't even touch it in the beginning. I was CLUE-less. I was like how the hell am I suppossed to make a song using this?

Before I had this impression of electronic stuff like ... "aahh...whatever they just push a button" but have come to find that's not always the case. Well, unless you buy already made loops ... then yeah, just push a button.

But for example, in "the addict" I had to actually create those sounds using resonators and other efx ... create melodies w/o them sounding cheesy ... edit a million times to get everything to fit. On top of that, you have to arrange a song ...add lyrics... record it live (at least that's the way I had to do it) ... then mix it all. And recording/mixing in itself is annoying...the time/patience it takes. It's just so much easier w/ just me and my guitar where I only have to do half of what's done w/ the electronic stuff.

So my hats definately off to producers !

It's definately a learning experience ...

Santy Claus is Comin to town

Just ordered some new toys for X-mas!

Very excited...bought some new recording gadgets. Nothing extravagent, but definately better than "windows sound recorder" : )

Anyhow I wish everyone joy, happiness, and inspiration for the coming year. Keep checkin back for new&cleaned up songs! Hopefully by the end of December.
