We are just five little mice, pissed at this great big world.
TEMPLETON is a band that has endured many struggles in it's past. Originally formingas The Cheese Bros (TCB), the band took on more of an upbeat style. In late 2005, the band's original vocalist, Bob Smith, tragically passed away in a mousetrap. Ironically, he died the same day they had finished recording their song "The Trap" that would later go on to be a smash hit single.
The band was hit hard by the incident. The remaining members ended up going their seperate ways. They were all soon pesticide addicts and two of them spent many nights behind the bars of a cage. In early 2006, they realized it was music that gave them purpose in life. They reformed under the new name Templeton.
Using the Myspace Social Networking System, they came in contact with an aspiring mouse vocalist from California, Cody Less. He flew out to LA to audition, and the same day, became the new vocalist for the band. After recording some new material, the band set out on the "Taste of Cheese" tour alongside many bands they had grown up listening to. Fans of their original style were disappointed to find that the band had changed almost completely. The music was heavier and the lyrics were far darker than the band's previous material. Sincerity dripped from Cody's emotionally-charged singing and screaming. Although the band lost most of it's old fans, it gained a whole new crowd entirely.
In late 2006, Templeton released their debut album "Cheese Please" to mixed reviews. Although it wasn't revieved the best by critics, Templeton's fanbase was growing quicker and quicker by day. The band then played on a number of tours with many shows sold out. In Summer of 2007, Templeton re-entered the studio and a few months latter, "We Brought the Plague" was released. It quickly became a success and brought Templeton onto the frontlines of the music industry. They soon embarked on their first headlining tour, The Black Plague European Tour, with supporting bands such as Forever the Sickest Mice, Scary Mice Scaring Mice, and Alvin and the Chipmunks. Every show of the tour was sold out.
As Templeton prepared to enter the studio to record their next album, "Pesticide Season" Cody informed the band that he was leaving to pursue a solo career. The news hit the band and fans hard. Newcomer Matt Sykes signed on as Less's permanent replacement promising not to let fans down.
Sykes states, "We all realized how much we truly hate this world. I think the new record is going to vividly show that. We're bringing the plague and it will make your ears bleed."
