Template is a progressive rock band from Melbourne, Australia.
Since their conception in 2002, Template have mixed a strong modern presence and appearance with technical proficiency and musicianship from the 1970's. Or, simply, Template enforce that progressive rock can be a powerful force in today's rock climate.
2007 sees Template release their latest effort, "I Thought I Turned the World, But it Turned on Me" The product of 3 years of musical and emotional development, constant (and consistent) live shows, the album encapsulates a new-found sense of direction and purpose for Template.
The common trend for bands in this genre is to sign deals overseas, and focus on the markets abroad. Template, however, adopt a "bloom where you are planted" approach, and are seminal in promoting and nurturing the scene on their home soil. Template also have an active involvement with the "OzProg" establishment, a company dedicated to the exposure of progressive rock in this country.
Template are endorsed by DW Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, and Death Wish Strings.
