Members: Vocals: Ajay Marshall, Guitar: Benji Burrill, Drums: Mark Jagnow, Guitar: Tyler Myklebust, Bass: Justin Bertilson
The Dead are Judged started in December '06 practicing and writing songs with the founding members Benji Burrill {guitar}, Justin Bertilson {Bass}, and Mark Jagnow {Drums} in place. 2 weeks after the founding of the band they found Alex Pasibe {Vocals}. In May 07 they began talks about recording an EP with producer Jules Hodgeson who is also the guitarist of the popular industrial band "KMFDM" and of the Seattle rock band "The Spittin Cobras" Jules was very interested in the project and agreed to begin in July of 07. After a month of recording the EP was finished...It was released to high praise. Jules was thrilled with the outcome and The EP got the attention of Paul Allen's Experience Music Project when they recruited the band for the "Sound Off!" battle of the bands show. Following the "Sound Off!" The Dead Are Judged were featured in the entertainment section of many Seattle media outlets such as The Seattle times, The Stranger, Everett Herald, Marysville Globe, and The Arlington times as well as other online entertainment blogs. Following the publicity of the EP and The "Sound Off!" the band decided to add another element to the live show by adding Tyler Myklebust as rhythm guitar in May '08. Tyler brought to the table a high energy stage presence and another guitar to add to the overall sound. After the addition of Tyler they recorded 12 songs {only 5 were released} for what would be the last time recording with singer Alex Pasibe. In December of 09' the band added Manager Ajay Marshall of Fastrack Entertainment after guitarist Benji had developed a business relationship with Ajay on the Saw 6 Soundtrack Tour. 2010 then became a time of change for the band, led by a Manager who opened up many new opportunities and a change of direction. Most of 2010 had been spent writing and preparing for august studio time with Grammy award winning producer Sylvia Massy {Tool, System of a Down, Johnny Cash} Benji and Mark also spent Feb and March of 2010 on the Sevendust/Drowning Pool tour along with Manager Ajay Marshall. In July with only a few weeks before it was time to record, vocalist Alex Pasibe decided to leave due to a difference in musical direction. Stuck without a singer and desperate to find one so that the band didn't have to forfeit the huge opportunity, the band asked Manager Ajay Marshall to step in last minute to sing on the Sylvia Massy sessions. The result was exciting. It was mutually agreed that Ajay would forfeit his managerial duties and become the Permanent vocalist for The Dead Are Judged. He fit the new direction of the band better than anyone else could have and the opportunities around the corner were undeniable. Many more big things lay ahead for this band and they are currently involved in talks with big name industry executives about future plans. Stay tuned!
