Tara James has always been a young woman full of dedication, independence, and a little bit of disturbance. James is a singer/songwriter born and raised in Springfield, Missouri. She has always been an overachiever in academics and always had big dreams. Although she seemed the perfect little girl on the outside, she has always retained a sense of darkness and mystery on the inside. "I started writing to control and let out all of my darkest thoughts that envelope me," says James. This may be why her lyrics and melodies leave such an eerie, haunting sensation to the listener.
Upon making a scratch demo in August 2006, she peaked the interest of singer/songwriter Phil Taylor (Future Leaders of the World, Machina). After doing pre-production together for over 3 months, she recorded her first official demo composed of the 3 Songs "Fear of Falling," "Red Rain," and "Vampire Kisses" at Jupiter Studios in St. Louis, Missouri. As the songs continued to evolve and grow throughout James' and Taylors writing process, James also showed much growth and matured greatly as a singer/songwriter from the experience.
"I just want to keep moving forward and get my music out there for everyone to hear. It really feels great to know that you are touching someones heart, or letting them know that they arent the only ones out there that feel the way they do. I want people to know that its okay to feel broken inside, because everyone does at some point," says James.
James is always writing new material and training vocally. She constantly strives to expand her knowledge of music to better herself and her chances for success. James has the determination, the ideal mind state, and the perfect work ethic for a long, prosperous career in the music business. Tara James is excited to make the best out of her most recent recording experience and take her career to the next level.
