Weve been quite busy the past few weeks that we failed to thank some people responsible for our Feb. gigs. so here we go to Mark Diago and the youth for awareness association(Iligan), Mitch and the rest of the X.U. team (M.B.M.Y.), and to Hector Plaza and Urios University (Butuan), thanks a lot guys for believing in our capacity to perform and entertain, for treating us well and giving us a good time while were at it. hope for more bookings to come. cheers!!!

We are giving up our slot on the Feb. 1807 gig. JazGround Anniversary simply because there are a lot of bands who really wants to play but sadly we, as one of the organizers, can no longer include all the bands because the show must end by 11pm. so i hope, to the bands that could no longer fit the time slots, please do understand and respect. there are more gigs to come thats for sure. whats important is we support each other as musicians and not pull each other down!! but for sure TABU will still be there not to play, but to get drunk!!!

We appeared in FUDGE MAGAZINE July Issue. during the photo ops and interview for this one, were so damn drained from all the gigs that we just wanted to get it over with. thanks to the fudge team, they gave justice to our picture as well as the article. quite fun to read actually. grab a copy.

i am a person who cannot live with out music. if you take away my freedom to make music, i'd die. with tabularaza, it never really was easy. some may think that its just a snap of a finger but it's not man! it's years of hard work, pain and desperation. during my 1st band when i was with paolo, carl and micheal, the very first time we heard our song via killerbee tunog kalye, i said to myself i'm going to work hard for this band. cuz i love the feeling of having something which i can be proud of. ain't that what we all want? human as i am, i also wanted the same of course but then just when we had bookings coming up, paolo had to leave for newzealand cuz his family is migratng there. in that case, i don't have the right to say no. eventually the band was crippled and that was the darkest days i ever had. i was desperate, i was a nobody, i felt like invisible and empty. soon i found jong and jun jun to play with me and micheal. finally the sun was shinning again. we worked hard and played weekly at site just to make money to record an album. i cut my allowance in half and save it for the band fund. i worked in production with muzik laban 2004, and all my earnings are not for me but for the band. i solicited money from my uncles and aunties, eating my pride and shame. and it is all because of this hard work that we had the chance to record an album which bacame DIVERSITY ISSUE. and just when when our songs were enjoying number one at killerbee and sandy101, jong had to leave due to personal reasons. imagine the pain in my heart, yet we struggled with getting session guitarist which happen to be rolly. after a few months rolly had to leave cuz he needs to focus on his studies. the dark age is back.... painful more than ever... all i ever wanted was to play my music with a band and it just never happens i went to a point where in i even questioned God why? isn't music the life for me? if only i can duplicate myself and put up a band, i will. but i never gave up until i found jerf, john, and ian to join me. this time i'm the only original tabularaza remaining continuing with the battle to share music. at this point i had to double the effort in saving money again. thanks to muzik laban 2005, it helped us a lot in terms of funding. but it was not enough. so i had to ask money from my parents and promised that this would be the last time. all i wanted was to record for the last time since i've been numbed already. i know members will come and go so all i want is to record whats in my heart while it 's still beating. all the band break ups some how traumatized me, that i now came to a point of just doing it. making this my last and final shot! to cut the story short, we finished the 3rd album entitled "SheWowAh" i didn't know what to do next except to just simply let people hear it. thanks to chuck he gave our demo to sir ace rivera of daybreak records and the song shewowah caught his attention. so he went to cdo cuz he wanted to meet with the band. by then, we needed a band manager and so that's when rhea my sister, went into the picture. sir ace said he's very willing to help cuz he believes in our music but he connot support us financially as of the moment. so what happend was we took care of the payments for the mass production and he'll take care of the bookings and distributions. we worked with him hand in hand. we thank him so much for giving us the chance in which we only dreamed of. the experiences of the tours and gigz connot be paid but we connot deny the fact also that the expenses were quite high. where did we get the money? it's from my sister's savings (rhea) she spent it for the band only because of three things. she loves me, believes in my music and in the band. what's her assurance with this investment? none at all. kalipay ra ang bayad namo ani. were down to a 6 figure expense with only 4 figures of returns. not to mention the video making expense. we have to sell 6,000 copies in order to break even and selling that much is impossible even with the major labels. so whats the point of being in the music industry then? it's simply because we want or i want to share my music. thats the only reason why were doing this shit! and you say dako na mig ulo kay mag pa bayad? God.... please understand that mo sugot man gani mi ug honorariom lang. honorarium is a gesture of thank you given to the band in any amount! all we want is the respect that we deserve. we went to all this shit just to share our music with you and you don't even want to return the favor? it's so painful for us if you really think about it. any where we go, we promote cagayan de oro and that there are a lot of great bands here all they need is a chance yet while were doing that, there are still a lot of people and bands biting our back saying all the negative things. outch!!! all we ask is take a little of your time and support, not only us but all the local bands who share the same struggle. dili sayun ni among ga buhaton. God! you think Chuy kaayo sa manila kay naa mi mga interview at mtv, magazines, photoshoot and gigz? while we're promoting Cagayan de oro and tabularaza in manila, our stomach is hungry cuz we cant afford to eat 3 times a day! never in my life i have felt that hungry but we had to do it for the love of music. so please try to reconsider. all we ask of you is very simple. help us in any posible way. even by just supporting would be such an honor already. and if you're not willing to help, then please just let us be and don't insult what we have worked for. salamat sa pag basa ani.
