It all started in a cold and windy night......yeah right!! When Mikko met Antti at the first time it was all clear to them. They wanted to start a band were Beatles goes to punk. Mikko and Antti started rehearsing and while they were training, some songs started to came out. All they really needed now was a bass player, a drummer and a name for the band.

Pasi the bass player....

Pasi, an old friend of Mikko asked him if he could come over and sing a song for his music project. After recording they started talking about bands and stuff. Mikko told about his new project and how they needed a bass player. Pasi was intrested and there was our bass player. All they now needed was a drummer and of course, name for the band.

Drummer, Drummer, Drummer...

Janne was an oldtime drummer master. He had been playing several bands including Lovestar which had been also Antti`s band. So Antti called him and because Janne didn`t have any better things to do, he was in.

So the training starts!

The problem was that Mikko wasnt really a guitar player or singer, Pasi didn`t like the music, Antti was afraid of playing live and Janne was just bored. Great start! But suddenly it all just clicked. First songs that we ever made was Oh!, Love ones, Terry and the Younghearts, Highlights, Cheap Sound and Pills. We still play some of the songs in our gigs.

Straight cut to Sweeties.

Suddenly there was our first gig coming and we didn`t have a name. Straight Cut, (what the hell were we thinking) that was the first and the worst name of our band. After that gig we changed the name to Sweeties. We wanted our band name to sound brutal and bad, so sweeties was a great choice, and we can always sell girl's panties in the internet........make some money.

Here and there

Sweeties have recorded two demo cds. First one was Oh! 2004,and second Mayday! 2006. We have had gigs in mostly Tampere but also in Helsinki and Jurva!? People have given us good feedback and our live shows have been full of energy. Come and see us playing live.
