PureVolume

We are a punk band from New Haven, IN. We consist of Jaydo (Jay) on rhythm guitar and vocals, Jewfro (Dave) on lead guitar and background vocals, Birdseye (Mike) on bass, and of course Rev. Willis on drums. We play a harder more true punk music. We take influence from Rancid, The Causualties, Fear, Dropkick Murphy's, ramones, transplants, and NoFX. We have an interesting dynamic within the group. Personally we are punk, indie, emo, and goth(/metal!!!)....but we are all punk on the inside. We each bring something different to the group that makes for very interesting songs and lyrics.

Member Profiles:

Jew-Fro a.k.a. David Winn - Hey, I'm co-guitarist of Survival of the Weakest. I started playing guitar about three years or so ago... which makes me a pretty crappy guitarist if you listen to me now. Anyway, my influences are many and varied. I'm a metalhead at heart and I've certainly been influenced by many of metal's greats such as Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom), Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth), Michael Romeo (Symphony X), Bill Steer (Carcass), Michael Amott (Carcass, Arch Enemy) as well as some proggy stuff, i.e. John Petrucci, etc. I definitely have a sloppy playing style (without a pick) and I think it adds personality to my riffs. Hopefully.

Mike "Birdseye" Heath - I am the silent bassist of the band. I give the band the low driving rhythm of punk. I love music in general. I listen to almost anything. I just started playing bass in June, but have picked up on it fairly quickly and I am getting much better at it. I have played guitar for over a year now though. I grew up listening to punk and take ideas from the good ole days of EAC Punks and put them into the songs.

Jay "Jaydo" - Born in April of 88' I am the cocky badboy of the band. No morals make for interesting songs and veiws on things. I am obsessed with Emma Watson and zombie movies so if you are a chick...Don't bother unless you look like/are Emma! You will see me singing and playing the guitar in Survival of The Weakest most of the time. Influences and favorite bands? Fuck that; you don't need to know that.

Rev. Willis M.F. Hecht The Third - as of april 5th the world has never been the same i like birdseye am an original EAC punk i am influenced by some of the greatest drummers of all time such as tommy and marky, dave oliver(migraines), Chad Smith(red hot chili peppers), Tre' Cool(GreenDay) Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa. my many differnt influence styles gives me a grooving original punk style.
