The idea for Sunday Masquerade began in late 2008 when New York City musicians Angie and Lui met up with Marcelo, newly arrived from Argentina, and recent Italian import Luca. While discussing musical influences the friends quickly began to toy with the idea of forming a band; thus was Sunday Masquerade born. They found that their influences crisscrossed each other in similar fashion, ala the 70s NY/British punk scene and glam rock. Angie's ripping powerful guitar leads are complimented by Marcelo's sizzling chops, Lui anchors them with bass, and Luca drives them forward on drums. The name implies a festive gathering of people wearing disguises on what is regarded as a sacred day or maybe is it a blatant disregard of deities? Either way, Sunday Masquerade's sound will not conceal but reveal a powerful dose of ear (and eye) candy !
