In case you were expecting to read about a new album
and hear a new song by Sufjan Stevens, let us explain why you won't.
This page was originally posted on purevolume.com by someone we don't
know or know anything about. The information about a new Sufjan
"state" album and the subsequent "apology" blaming an intern was
bogus, and the song purportedly from that album was recorded by a
person unknown, not Sufjan. Actually, he hasn't decided which state
will be next in the fifty-state project. It might be Oregon- he spent
some summers there when he was very young -but it could also be one
of the 47 other states he hasn't written about yet.

Today, purevolume.com turned the page over to us, the
real Asthmatic Kitty, and we're going to leave it up for the time
being so that visitors may read the truth about the "Oregon" song and
album, and hear some music by the real Sufjan Stevens. We've read
