October 24th Aspen, CO - Belly Up
The first day of tour is here!!! What an awesome awesome first day. We left on Monday and drove through the afternoon and night from sunny CA to the chilly chilly Colorado. The ride up was awesome, we were so excited to be hitting the road again with the coolest bands on the planet! We got to Aspen really early and enjoyed some fine quality McDonalds and explored the quiet mountain town! We were reunited with Reel Big Fish and West Bound Train which was like heaven on a silver platter! We made new friends, Streetlight Manifesto, they are awesome! The show rocked solid and was tough because of the elevation, but we made it through with the power of rock! After the show we hung out with the fans and then joined Mr. Aaron Barrett and Reel Big Fish for a tour kick off party, all night long baby!!! After that, we nuzzled into a cozy little mountain lodge and got major sleepy time!
October 25th Grand Junction, CO - Mesa Theater
Another chilly day in Colorado!! Today was Grand Junction, what's yo' function?!? We headed out early, stopped for Wendy's, our favorite fast food stop of all time!! After eating, the band had a lengthy discussion about the ups and downs about Guns And Roses, we love that stuff! We got to the theater, the Mesa Theater, and it was kinda yucky outside, but we got some quality hang-out time with the ever awesome West Bound Train(ers). Now the show tonight was off the hooook!! Probably my favorite rock show in a long time! The kids were amazing, I couldn't believe the energy. I hit my kick drum in soundcheck and a roaring applause!! So cool! And we tried out our new intro music, which was a huuuge hit!! All the bands were great and I know this is going to be a great fall tour!! Time to head home to California for some home shows, I love home shows!!- Derek Lee
October 27th Hollywood, CA - The Avalon
Hey everyone... today we played the avalon in Hollywood which was really fun. We all drove up listening to some inxs cd's the king brought and decide we were going to make a tickle me Luis doll sometime in the future so keep your eyes out for that awesome doll to come out!!!! so we arrived to the venue around 4 to unload and do all that jazz,a couple
of us got interviewed for this ska documentary this guys are doing. . . should be cool to see when it comes out. sooooo show started rather early cuz the avalon turns into the spider club after the bands are done playing. Ok so the show went well west bound train got everything flowwwing like always and then we came up and rocked a power set full of sexy music! set list: high fives, bsm, hey dj, girls got what i want, come back home and finished with powerful game. AFter us came streetlight and they were snazzy and last but not least came the fish and spit out the hits and rocked the show like always. . . . .i think i can see

October 30 Reno, NV - The New Oasis
On Monday we were in Reno/Sparks NV. It was a bit chilly, but the reception was so warm. Everyone at that show went off! A couple of guys drove 17 hours all the way from New Mexico to see the show. Hope you guys got home safe. We met some nice ladies that wanted to take us to Del Taco. Unfortunately we weren't able to go (Baby...), but maybe next time. There was lots of dancing and good times to be had!
October 31 Anaheim, CA - HOB Anaheim
We drove through the night and got into the OC around nine in the morning. Everyone went their separate ways to get their costumes together for the super scary House of Blues Show.... It was a fun show! It was a nice way to spend Halloween with a few of your friends (that's everyone that came out)! I was aiming to be Prince, but ended up looking like Little Richard instead. Brian K was Lieutenant Jim Dangle from Reno 911, Luis was the cute version of the Devil, Derek was a wicked angle, Mikey was the hottest cheerleader this side of the Mississippi, and Brian R was Ash from The Army of Darkness. We all looked good, but Dallas Kruse (our home town keyboard player) took the cake for the best dressed as Christina Aguilera Lady Marmalade. The whole night was a little overwhelming.
So far kicking off the tour this week, it's been great! I feel lucky to be on the road with Reel Big Fish, Streetlight and Westbound. They're all so friggin good! Looking forward to the rest of the tour!
Got to get to bed! Have to wake up in 3 hours to head up to Nor Cal.
Night,
Vince
November 1 Santa Cruz, CA - Catalyst
Santa Cruz was certainly a fun show at the Catalyst, one of the funnest on tour so far. The venue was super cool, apparently it was the first place that Hillary Duff performed at! Me and Derek spent the first couple hours fixing his kick drum pedal, which was a struggle but felt great when we got it fixed. We got fed great pizza at the venue as well. The crowd was the best part of the night. The place was packed and the kids seemed to be as much into the new songs as the old ones! The rest of the bands performed great too. The sound was awesome. This looks to be a really fun tour - big venues playing with great bands and tons and tons of great kids. See you all in San Francisco at the Fillmore!!!
Thanks,
Mikey
November 2 San Francisco, CA - The Fillmore
So today we find our selves in the bay area right in the heart of San Francisco! I personally love the bay area! First of all the kids are always good to us here, and they always have been! The kids at the Fillmore were no exception. Ahh.... The famous Fillmore is such a nice venue. And although the show went off with out a hitch, I do have some complaints. So the Fillmore is an awesome AWESOME venue, but they don..t let you sale your own merch! If you know me at all you know I like to be behind the merch table. It..s my baby! So it..s hard for me to let someone I don..t know handle our merch. Well anyway there is not much I can do about it at the Fillmore ... Well like I said the show was awesome and the best part was when Brian the King got to sing the tail end of RBF..s song Where Have You Been! It was great!! We ended the night waiting around for the house merch guys to finish counting all the money they made from all the bands. Did I tell you I don..t like strangers touching my merch! They were nice guys and very professional, but in the end its like getting mugged by a well dressed and polite thug.
- Brian R.
Well today's show was definitely a fun one. We all showed up at the world famous Fillmore Theatre in beautiful San Francisco, CA. And it was a gloomy, rainy day. After loading all the gear and setting up, I couldn't help but notice all of the famous and familiar faces on the walls - many acts have performed at the Fillmore. Everyone from No Doubt to Cypress Hill, Janice Joplin to Dave Chapelle had their faces framed in this place. The inside of the venue was also very beautiful, a huge ball-room type room decked out with a huge stage, curtains, and chandeliers. We were also treated very well. We had a dressing room and were fed a good warm meal, a sometimes hard-to-come-by ammenity on the road. After a solid set and watching the other bands rock out, it was time for us to head back out to our room and get ready for another exciting day... Orangevale here we come!

November 3 Orangevale, CA - The Boardwalk
So here's how I think it happened. After waking up in the morning (afternoon), I did my morning stretches while the rest of the dudes did their various morning rituals. Dropped Toshiko off at Berkley. Beautiful campus, with lots of smart looking people looking busy doing lots of stuff and all sorts of things. College is great! Teaches us how to keep life busy with stuff and things to fuel the everyday economic infrastructure around us (and so much more...). Enough! Lets head to Orangevale California. The Boardwalk in Orangevale was AWESOME!!! The show was completely sold out, and I think it was one of the best Boardwalk shows we've ever played. The place was packed! Met a bunch of new people (you know who you are, and are we friends yet?) and saw some old friends too! After our set, Klemm and I stepped out for a second to find a bathroom for him and ended up in a bar where it was the local Karaoke night. He used their facilities and I bought the drinks, cause there was no way we were going to leave without singing at least one song each. Brian rock the house with Hot Chocolate's, "I Believe In Miracles," and when I mean ROCK THE HOUSE, I mean ladies that looking like substitute teachers bumping and grinding all over me, Klemm and anything else that got in their way. I
pretty much killed the night with "Sweet Child of Mine," and the substitute teachers had there way with me. :(
November 4 Portland, OR - Roseland Theatre
Mikey started off the drive to Portland after the Boardwalk show and drove till sun rise. He said, "I hit Mount Shasta just when the sun was coming up. It was $%..ing amazing." Brian R took over and also mentioned how beautiful the drive is coming up to the Pacific Northwest. There are definitely things you get to see rolling through the country that really make you feel lucky. Portland was lots of rain, but a great show. We played at the Roseland theater. Great crowd! Loved all the bands and danced and danced and DANCED! The dressing rooms were down stairs and the ceiling down there would be squeaking in time with all the people dancing to the show up above. When everyone bounced, so did the ceiling.
Seattle is next. The birthplace of me!
Take care,
Vince
p.s. brian klemm helped break up a fight at the strip club down the street and it was awesome!!!! I tell you again.... it was AWESOME...

November 5 Seattle, WA - El Corazon
This was a great show, tons of kids packed in a smaller venue. It was almost worth it to stay in the warm venue all night just to avoid the rain. It was certainly a gloomy day, but you couldn't tell by the enthusiasm of the kids. It was a great crowd, a lot of recognizable faces showed up, including Alex Norton, Dan Norton from Ernie Ball's daughter. Its just getting funner and funner playing shows with this lineup on tour. Tomorrow we have a day off in Seattle... Going to see the Borat movie with the band! We're also staying at Vince's parent's place in Seattle for the next couple nights. Can't wait, they're always so nice to let us stay with them! See you in Boise!!
Mikey
November 6 Seattle, WA - DAY OFF
So we had a day off after playing my heart in Seattle. We all ended up crashing at the Walker's casa, this is a place we look forward to hanging out at when we come on tour. The day off was pretty easy ... we went and had lunch with Vince's mom and sister and then went to Target. We all watched the new Borat movie... which was awesome! We all recommend everyone to watch it. After that we headed home to get some amazing dinner that Vince's mom cooked for us and after that we all hit the sack. I want to thank family Walker for letting us stay over and eat their food. We love u.

November 9 Calgary, AB - MacEwan Hall
So as of right now we are in the great frozen land of Canada!! IT's SO F'in COLD!!!! Last night we played in Calgary, and the show was great! However, getting there was a different story. The night before Calgary was Spokane WA, which was also a great show! We had a ton of fun with the set throwing in Desperate and Derek was blind folded for his drum solo! It was the funniest thing! We had no idea he was going to do that! But anyway, the drive is like 15 hours to Calgary!!!! And its not like we have been sleeping a lot lately, so it was a really difficult all night drive. We have NEVER been into Canada before, so this was a first for us... We had to go through immigration and all the officers were really nice and in the end we all got little Canadian pins for our jackets! And anyway, Canada is cold!!!! Really cold! Its all snowy here! And it doesn't help all the sick guys in the band. In fact, I think I'm the only one that is not horribly sick! I'm so scared! There is so much sick coughing all around me, I don't know how much more I can withstand before my body is infested with the germs of my fellow countrymen!
Anyway, Canada is just like the states but there are the few things that let you know you are in a foreign country. First, the infrastructure is all screwy. Their roads are all nice and maintained, but at the same time their major roads don't seem to have gas stations? I was freaking out because I was trying to find gas before we ran out, but I had to wait till we hit a city. There's another thing the main artery roads run through the cities, so unlike the states you have to drive through a city and stop at traffic stops instead of driving over all of the surface streets on a highway.
Well this is getting long so we shall talk more of the cultural differences in a latter journal.
Love
Brian Robertson
Part 2 - 11/16/06
Ok. So let me finish up on the cultural differances between the US of A and Canada of A. As we explored the frozen north a bit more I found many similarities. The highway system was a bit more like ours then I originaly said. So I kinda take back what I said about it being screwy. Now Canadians speak english and french, but I realy didint run into any french speaking people except for one gal that had a huge french accent, but everything in Canada has both english and french translations. So when we bought nightquil we could see what the drug dose for the french. Anyway, the Canadian money has no value to me... only because I don't use it. However, I began to realy like their cash! Their notes are very colorfull with some great art work. Much nicer then the states! But! They don't have 1 dollor notes only coins :( ... and for us that sucks! Our bank in the states won't exchange coins! So I always do my best to get rid of coins before we cross the border. I'm sure the lady at a'n'w loved us when I payed for our food in coins :) anyway. I know the other guys talked about the border crossing in strip search detail so ill leave that for them. We enjoyed our time it the cold frozen wonderland of canada but it's good to be back in the states! So we still have a ton of time left on this tour, its only half way through! See you on the road!

November 10 Edmonton, AB - Dinwoodie Lounge
This was another university show and it was a fun one. We arrived at the Dinwoodie Lounge after searching the wintery white and snowy university, but still managed to get there a little early. Our van really looks like a well traveled road warrior, today I noticed it was all covered in dirt, mud, and snow.
We went inside the place and it looked like a giant multi-purpose room with a big stage. We went to a cafeteria to eat before the show, the place I would find myself at later on in the night with Thad and Rich from Westbound Train to play some pool and have a couple beers. All in all a very fun night, but I can tell the guys are not at all used to the cold and we are all at least a little sick. Thanks for the fun times Edmonton!! See you again,

November 11 Saskatoon, SAS - Louis' Pub
Bonjour!
Two down and two to go for the Canadian part of the tour. Louis' pub seemed to be a bit of a smaller venue with a smaller stage, but it's a great chance for us to perform in a more intimate setting. This place was on a university campus and looks like it had been remodeled not too long ago. It was really modern looking and pretty nice. The food was one of the highlights of the day for me, we were fed good hot meals from the restaurant in the venue. I had the burger... Mmm! The type of crowd here was very nice and receiving of us. The sound on stage was pretty bad for me at least, but it must have been great on the dance floor because the kids were going pretty nuts all night. Its about 20 degrees today, we'll stay bundled up in the snow! See you in Winnipeg!

November 12 Winnipeg, MB - Ramada Theatre.
Hi there!!
Well here we are at the end of our time in Canada for this tour. And I think this had to be the best out of the four Canadian shows. The Ramada Theatre was a nice big venue, with huge monitors that you could stand on and pump up the crowd. There was stadium-like seating with a huge dance floor standing room area up at the front. Kids were jammed right up against the stage and really getting into the music for all the bands. I thought we had a great show.
Its been really fun and exciting playing in a totally new territory. It was interesting and a little humbling to have every one of our audiences see us for the first time up here in Canada. Looks like we're gonna stay the night here at the Ramada, which is a big hotel attached to the venue. I've heard it is haunted, ahh! Canada was tons of fun but I know we can't wait to get back into the states. Thanks for al the great times Canada and we'll see you back at home in the US!!

November 14 Fargo, ND - The Venue
The drive from Winnipeg to Fargo wasn't too bad at all. We came in on Monday, 11/13, and checked into our room after staying the night in Winnipeg. We went through immigration earlier that morning and we spent quite a bit of time there at the border. They searched our whole van and nearly the whole trailer while we had to wait in a small room with a door and 4 white walls. Derek got the special treatment and had to wait in a room all by himself. Many many questions about marijuana. So glad our band doesn't smoke.
Anyways, after getting back to the states and to our room, we decided to celebrate our time in Canada by all of us going to dinner at Hooters. We ordered hot wings and a tower of beer for all, and by the time Aaron and Ryland from Reel Big Fish showed up, we were all a little buzzed and having a great time.
The next day (11/14, day of the show) we arrived at the venue early as we usually do. This place was HUGE! I went in and walked around a bit, a giant stage outlooking a big dance floor and a nice balcony level. I asked what the capacity and someone said 2,200 people! Damn! The place wasn't completely full come show time, but the kids that showed up were super excited to see us and very complimentary of our performance. I had a lot of people talk to me that have never seen us before. Thanks Fargo, see you again soon I hope!

November 15 Madison, WI - The Barrymore Theatre
Hi again!
Well that was more of a drive again, something like 10 hours. Cheers to Vince and Brian R for pulling another drive-all-night, get-us-there-or-bust driving session. We arrived at a gas station about 20 mins outside Madison, where I took over driving and got us to a Guitar Center for some gear. I called ahead and they opened at 11am, another hour and a half to go. So, we went to McDonalds and me and Derek got a little bite to eat and killed a bit of time. We went back to GC and we got some accessories, sticks, and I ended up buying a wireless guitar system! Now I can run around the stage and not trip over my chord, yay! They were real nice and gave us a deal, even threw in a couple packs of strings for us. The weather out here is pretty cold but not quite as bad as Canada. Maybe in the high 30s or low to mid 40s right now, a little colder than Cali!
After having an amazing lunch at Subway, we headed to the Barrymore. It was an older looking venue that appeared to have been a movie theater once before, but now has been converted into a rock venue. We decided to tape and record the set for tonight, good way to keep us all honest with each other's performance. I didn't see it yet but I heard it wasn't too bad of a show. The kids were very enthusiastic about the show and Reel Big Fish played a really fun set tonight. Oh, and one of the guys that helped us out at Guitar Center was there too. Looks like a hotel room for tonight, we'll see you all in Dundee at the Clearwater!
