Stop Motion Cinema is a bluesy, funky, rockin high school band.. that plays some groovin music. Formerly named Haywire, the band began all the way back in 2004 with drummer/guitarist Charlie Glick, guitarist/singer Cody Martin, and bassist/keyboardist Karim Shafi. SMC has come a long way since then, adding members - Phil Mattina on guitar and vox, David Kettler on them basses - and also losing a member , Cody. But the band continues to churn out music, recording on occasion.....
The band really went underway when Phil joined, coming out with originals such as Driving Me Insane, I'll be Good to You, and Smile or Cry. Now with David Kettler on bass, Karim has been able to move permanantly to the keys, really boosting the band to a new level of versatility and tightness. Now the group continues to write music -- new, and for the most part unheard originals include Cuentos de Mexico, Spanish Lullaby, Defunked, Gus, Traveler, Loved Her So, Into the Night, and several other tunes in creative progress. Soon the band will be booking shows for the summer, so be sure to come out and listen to all the new material if you're nearby.
