In 2009 Adam, Ricco, Keko and Luca will launch their first CD. As Stevens, they had been produced by Andre Jung, former-drummer of IRA!, giving birth to an album that brings 12 songs composed by the band during the last year. For such a young band, getting into the studio with a great producer was a huge a challenge. The four Stevens' members had been locked down in the studio, assayed non-stop and had given life to the songs, some of wich were wrote during the recordings. The recording sessions were fantastic and unforgettable for everyone. The band, the producer and the crew got into the mood and the result was surprising.

Merging the last guitar solo, recorded by the extraordinary Wander Taffo, within one the songs touched everyone deeply. An incredible moment to the carrer of such a special band. Taffo was producing Stevens and had just recorded the guitar solo on O Que Voce Sempre Quis. His sudden death was a shock to the band, who learned, admired and enjoyed the friendship with one of the biggest masters of guitar in the world. The solo recorded by Wander Taffo had been preserved and can be found on the hit that helped the band on it's first album.

Wander Taffo discovered Stevens during it's participation on the 2007 edition of FICO, the brazilian most important student music festival. Stevens took part with the song O Que Voce Sempre Quis and was elected the winning band, also taking the prize for Best Unreleased Song and the prize of Festival's Revelation, won by Adam. Not bad at all for a group of friends that had met each other just one year before, on 2006, through colleagues at school. Such an ordinary story with a lot of examples on Rock history. But Rock is just like that. Simple. And simple stories , like the friendship between boys who enjoy music and run after the dream of making a band , usually succeed.

The coolest part is that the reference bands for Stevens are also great models of friendship. Among them are The Beatles, The Wgo, Queen, U2, The Killers and McFly. Bands that, above all, were dedicated to the make of good songs. Simple and straight to the point, like their own name

The name Stevens was a suggestion by Ricco and everyone liked it. There wasn't, really, any big pretension. Every band needs a name and that one just sounds good and is cool to write. Moreover, it became a way to homage Steve Morse, Cat Stevens, Steve Vai and other importants Stevens of music that had never been remembered in a band name before. The band assumed the name soon during it's first meetings. Ricco was a school colleague of Adam's brother. When the two met, they noticed they had a lot in common, mainly about music. Ricco then told him that his younger brother was a drummer and also that he had a bassist friend. After the first meeting between the four, the band hasn't stopped. It's first concert took place in Sao Paulo, by the end of 2008, along with Marcelo D2. One expects that it's just the first of many to come.

So much history during such a little time. And there is yeat a lot to come...
