Alternative / Rock
We are a rock band. That's all we ever wanted to be. Music Connection Magazine reviewed us and called our music "epic and exhilarating" (way cool). Our songs are on the aggressive side but still accessible. Fans say we look at life with a convoluted honesty. Maybe. We just write what we feel.
Starving for Gravity started out in North Dakota, and we've been together for about two years. We were a cover band that played local bars and clubs around Grand Forks, until we saved enough money to finance an album of our own material. That got the attention of 79 Volts Management, who asked us to come to California. We decided to go for it, so we hit the road and toured the Midwest and Southwest United States on our way to LaLa Land.
The move was more than a change of scenery. Not only was the weather warmer, the music scene was way different. 79 Volts hooked us up with multi-platinum producer, John "JR" Ryan of "Chicago Kid Productions" (Santana, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Baha Men) who recorded ten new tracks for our latest album, "Urgency". We played the Viper Room and lucked out - scoring a tour agent who had us open for Vast.
Since then, we've played shows from San Diego to San Francisco, including the eWorldMusic Launch Party, the Cal State Long Beach "Battle of The Bands" (we won); and the Temecula Valley Film & Music Festival Showcase.
We love playing shows and made a lot of friends. We're going crazy trying to figure out the music business. But, hey, that's management's gig. We just want to be musicians. If you like what you hear and want to get to know us, send a message or add a comment. We'd like to hear what you think.
Rock on...
