Description:
START OF THE DAY's new EP release "BATON" leads you back to the beginning. Blending together Scandinavian post-rock and shoegazer taste to create a sense of vast emotion; START OF THE DAY becomes an orchestra made out of a band with strings, keys, percussion, and vocals. Despite the absence of a solid bassist, START OF THE DAY's sound is tighter than ever with a sense of unity among its compositions. The lead song "Paradise of Wonderland" comprises of a melody that makes you want to dance and vocals of angelic quality. Crossing all genres, their sound resounds in the hearts of their listeners. Having progressed as a band by touring outside of and within Japan, as well as performing at large rock festivals; the constant source of their drive and inspiration is without a doubt, from the audience.
From me to you "BATON". From here, from now; it begins.

Profile:
Start of the day is a Japanese, female-fronted, emotional rock band that tours both inside and outside of Japan. The band employs spatial, emotional guitar, soaring vocals, and tight drums.
Watching a live performance is like watching an emotion-driven cinema.
The music they make is unlike any other, projecting love and hope to the world.

Start of the Day was formed on Feb. 22, 2002 in the heart of Tokyo, Japan by former Nature Living guitarist Yuya Tanami. Having grown up in the 90s, Scandinavian and American emo rock, especially Swedish bands, made a profound impact on the band’s members.

In 2006, they released an EP demo that became #1 in sales for a number of weeks on Japan’s Hardcore-Emo Online Store. That same year, they released another EP entitled “From Here to Anywhere” that gained positive views from various places across the globe. This led up to their signing with Theory and Practice Records and the release of further works. Today, they have established themselves as a firm figure in the Japanese emotional rock scene.

In 2010, through a major distributor, they released their newest album “Love” throughout Japan. At the same time, they also released the album in Taiwan. As well as performing in their home country of Japan, Start of the Day also performs at a number of overseas Rock Festivals. This year, 2012, they will welcome in their 10th anniversary as a band as well as releasing a new EP before the year is over.

Amazing Voice.....one of the best Indie/Emo Bands from Japan....head and shoulders above the rest....what a vocal range.....sometimes maybe a little too high.....but most singers can\'t even find that octave that Atsuko can. May 01
