Based in Minneapolis, MN, Standbye formed in 1997 in a ubiquitous garage. Their 1999 album, "Days Spent Waiting," was instantly popular, garnering extensive press coverage and radio play, and even rising to #51 on CMJ's Top 200. After a brief split in 2000, Standbye is back together, and in 2002 released their stunning 7 song EP, "The Coping Mechanisms."
