Formed in early 2006, this Orange County group aims to bring a new and unique approach to an oversaturated heavy music genre. When founding members recorded their first demo with friend and industry respected producer Beau Burchell (Saosin, The Bled, The Bronx), they realized that these tracks brought a sound and approach that needed to be taken to the next level. The rest of 2006 was spent writing countless new songs and developing the group into the ideal creative output that SSNOVA has now become. In addition to their instrumental roles, each member of the band has a story to tell and inspiration to spread. In late 2006 the band signed with Florida-based label Pinky Ring Records to put out their first EP.

Produced by Shaun Lopez (Deftones, Revolution Smile), SSNOVAs self-titled EP will be released in the Spring of 2007 and the possibilities will be endless from there. Once the EP is complete, the band will resume writing additional songs for a full-length that will possibly be released later in the year.

New label?

We have amicably parted way with Pinky Ring Records. Currently we are focused on writing new material but I am also working hard to get a digital distro deal for the EP. So look for it on iTunes very soon! Check back often for updates. - Bob

Studio Update!!

So we've finished all the drums and should be done with all guitars and bass by the end of the weekend (Dec 18th). Next week we get Dave and the keys thrown in to complete the record. So far everything sounds amazing and we've been having a great time hanging out with Shaun. Expect some new pictures to be posted soon and some possible show announcements shortly after.

Pre-production and news

What's up everyone! We're really excited to get this record complete in the next month or so and the process of doing so has been amazing. We've been meeting up with our producer Shaun Lopez so he can help do pre-production and make sure we have the best sound and structure possible. We will be entering Pulse studios on or around the 19th to lay down Ruben's drum tracks. We should be getting video and photos of the experience to put up on the net so everyone can check that out. After laying down drums I'll be working with Shaun at his studio (The Airport) to get all the guitar set into place. Already at this point we have come very far from the band we initially started off as late last year. The confidence level and focus is at an all time high and the music really reflects our efforts. SS NoVa entering studio/EP debut in November 2006

The fine folks in SS nova are proud to announce we have finished writing our Debut EP for Pinky Ring Records. We will tenatively enter the studio in the next couple weeks with producer Shaun Lopez to start pre-production and tracking drums. This CD is gonna kick your ass, unlike anything you've heard as of late. Get stoked....
