It's another foggy, cold and windy summer day in San Francisco where we meet four twenty something guys far more accustomed to the humid suburbs in the south east. Riding high on a steady diet of nicotine, alcohol, pizza and rock 'n roll they sit in an overpriced apartment that would be confused a "squatter house" in any other city. Singer Josh Merry lights another cigarette and fiddles with his guitar as drummer Cassidy Price keeps a beat by banging furiously on his legs. Lead guitarist Sean Reilly takes another swig of Jack Daniels and picks up the other beat up acoustic guitar from the corner of the slanted,beer-stained living room floor. Unbeknownst to the rest of the world, another Springfield anthem is born.

For nearly three years the three friends have written song after song devolping a sound that ranges from hard hitting rock 'n roll ("Service With a Smile"), to Queen-like, apocolyptic anthems("The Ending"), to songs forthe Warped Tour generation ("Elana Song") as well as jazzy swing tunes("Swing Baby Swing"). And that's just on the few songs they have recorded. A new pillar in the house that rock built has entered the group in the form of new bassist named Matthew Carey. Matt used to be the guitarist/singer of the nicofiends, a group that he and Sean started when they were 15 (a group that both Josh and Cassidy later joined) that played hundreds of shows in the south east including shows with Fenix TX, Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, Sum 41 and Hot Rod Circuit to name a few. Matt left the group to get a degree, then came back.

Ever inspired by one another and their surroundings, Springfield are firm believers in the motto, "IF people are gonna be listening, we might as well have something to say." With subject matter ranging from plastic surgery, friendship, family and drugs, to class systems, lesbians, alcohol, ex-girlfriends and damn near everything else under the blistering California sun. Teaming up with some of the best local talent in San Francisco Springfield is playing shows all over the city including many headlining gigs at the legendary rock club the Bottom of the Hill.

Tales of their unforgettable live shows packed with sweat, energy, rock, humor, dancing girls and alcohol fueled shenanigans have spread from coast to coast making new fans everyday. A new documentary in the works following the last year and a half in the rise of the band directed by San Francisco film maker, Sean Moller will give new and old fans an inside look into the lives of the ever-musical circus freaks that call themselves Springfield. See and hear for yourself the.... blah blah blah blah blah the end.
