Punk / Rock / Pop Punk
Space Station 5 is a 3-piece punk rock band from Miami, FL. They take the ferocity of bands like The Distillers and Fugazi and put it to the catchy hooks the likes of the Descendants, The Vandals, and Alkaline Trio.
The band was Started in 2001 by brothers Angel and Richard Buznego out of a need to find the kind of music they always wanted to hear. "We just used to learn songs by ear and just jam," Says Richard of the brothers' musical infancy.
Soon enough, they started playing shows in the South Florida Area, released an E.P. ("Oh my God, it's full of Stars") and even contributed a track (the catchy singalong "Ed") to SoFla records' "SoFla, So good, so what" compilation, also featuring the likes of The Crumbs, The Delegates, Hopesick, and Against All Authority.
After a few years of playing out, the lineup was solidified with the addition of Bassist Michael "Gizmo." In Gizmo, the brothers Buznego found a kindred spirit; someone who enjoyed the ferocity of early hardcore and the hooks of a great pop punk tune.
Space Station 5 are Currently working on their first full length release, "Diagrams of Skylab" as well as planning a summer tour.
