This was definitely a night for all fans of the new breed of southern rock/outlaw country! Upon arriving at the show one could tell they were in for a special evening. The large crowd was rockin and havin a blast from the git go! After being warmed up by a couple of local cover bands the first original act Southern Fury took the stage and launched into a great set featuring songs from their latest release Loud&Proud which immediately had the crowd rockin. This band has a super tight rhythm section with steady Steve Kerndt on drums and rockin Ray Hehr on bass. They are fronted by rhythm guitarist Dave Fernandez whose gravelly vocals and great showmanship had the crowd cheerin and stompin after every tune. On lead guitar was Tom Fowler playing his way cool self made guitar. Tom just may be one of the most unsung guitarists in southern rock, he's just a phenominal player with beautiful tone and blistering licks.
