Soundtrack of a summer formed in Parma, Italy in 2007.
The band was founded by Simone and Michele, former guitarist and drummer in Can I say, who joined Lorenzo, bass player in Linkcable, and guitarist Massimiliano in a new-rock project.
In their early work, the band dealt mostly with punk-rock and post-grunge. After a few months Massimiliano chose to leave the band in order to pursue other musical interests. As a trio the band played and wrote new songs but soon decided that only a guitar was not enough for the sound it wished to achieve, so it recruited guitarist Giorgio who played in Proto k distillery and Daphne and brought new emo-pop influences (Jimmy eat world).
By the end of September 2007, Soundtrack of a summer took its music into the studio and recorded their promo, releasing it with no label support, and began performing live with the new line up (they shared the stage with The Styles and Forty Winks).
In the meantime the band immersed itself in writing mode for its second promo; that' s the time, spring 2008, in which the real essence of the band came out: big guitar walls and massive drums supporting a clean, melodic vocal line.
Autumn 2008, the band joined first Fabio Intraina (Tray studio) and then Peo & Icio (Hate studio) to record a new promo.
However, despite the intensely personal nature of the album, it's also clear that anyone who's ever experienced love or loss can relate to songs like "Rent grace for less" or "Down in Africa" on a purely emotional level.
"We are really proud of the way our music turned out this time around, we need to share it with audience and we plan on spending most of 2009 on the road making sure it's heard by as many people as possible".
