In december 2001, in the Scottish town of Arbroath, Andy Thain, Marc Thain, Scott 'Hitch' Holmes and Stuart Lamont formed the band Soundshok.
The initial line-up of Andy on vocals, Marc on bass, Hitch on guitar's and Lamont on drums has remained throughout the bands existence. They released there first ep/demo 'Nightmare Dreams' early 2002. In 2004, with the release of 'Watching And Waiting', there first full length ep, Soundshok had secured there place in the Scottish live music scene with an impressive fanbase built up over the years of intense live performances throughout Scotland and even the occasional venture into England and Europe.

In 2005, they released there first full length album, 'Resurrection Of The Sacred', a live performance disc, mainly of new material unavailable on any other disc as well as live performances of some of there previous material from 'Watching And Waiting'.

On completion of there live album, Soundshok began promoting the album all across Scotland, with plans to venture down into England. The tour was cut short nearing the end of 2005 due to Andy requiring a serious operation. In early 2006 Andy had recovered substantially and a series of live performances were arranged to promote there latest ep, 'Devoured', which had been begun late 2005 and finished in the first quarter of 2006 following Andy's recovery.

Soundshok regard 'Devoured' as there ''heaviest most brutal work to date''.

To this point Soundshok have been involved in more than 80 live performances throughout there career.

With "Devoured", their 1st release of 2006 the band finally found their true sound and are now currently working on their debut Album entitled "The Bringer Of Bloodshed" featuring such tracks as "Truth Be Told", "Nothing To Prove" and "For Your Enemies".
