The band Soulscape forges new ground for the ears of the masses. With their cunning choruses, soulful melodies, rich harmonies, and screaming guitar solos, the band breaks the barriers of popular music, establishing an ever-growing foothold in the musical culture. The spread of the band's influences is remarkable, ranging from the smooth elegance of traditional classical composers to the raw power of contemporary rock bands like Alter Bridge and Tantric. The band's songs showcase the talent of vocalist Dan Hoag. His melodic tenor voice soars with the playing of lead guitarist Nick Eveslage, whose guitar transitions from the delicate semblance of the acoustic guitar to the fierce cutting power of his electric riffs. Bassist David Ostendorf brings a low-frequency depth to the songs, while The Drummer keeps it all together. Together, they create the ensemble that is Soulscape.
The future of Soulscape is promising. Already in their short existence, they have graced the Fine Line Music Caf on First Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Twice, they played the venue, headlining one event. Another venue that Soulscape was fortunate enough to play was the amazing Star Central in Columbia Heights, Minnesota. They have performed on the very stage that such bands as Sevendust, Powerman 5000, and Adema have visited, and have had requests from local radio stations desiring to air their music. With the ever-building force of Soulscape, there is no denying their potential.
The band's birth in 2005 was a humble one, set in a small basement studio. Having just dismantled their previous band, Eveslage and Ostendorf welcomed The Drummer into the new group. After a short search, the trio discovered Hoag, and from this Soulscape was born. As their sound grew, so did their need for another band member. Anthony Mehr brought a second guitar to the ensemble and collaborated with the band in writing several songs; however, his membership in Soulscape is pending his interest in remaining with the group.
