It was the middle of 1997 when Soulburner started to make its history in the city of Concepcion (VIIIth region, chile) when five friends ( each one with his own band) join together and decide to cultivate a style that in those years wasnt really massive. They began to show it with On hell, a melodic death metal band that was a mixture of a Swedish sound (at the gates, in flames) and schuldiner (death), that project had the next composition :

They first gig were a success, having a good reception from the audience and staying in the memory of every person who was there but under the name of soluburner ( name that remains until today). The very first challenge was to play in santiago and Valparaiso ( two of the most important cities of chile) opening for undercrocft with an audience of 800 people, pretty much for those young inexperienced boys. After this performances, the name and music of the band become well-known in the local musical environment.

Soulburner, carried on with the idea of playing in small concerts, all kind events and outside cities, until a member took the decision of leave the formation (Mauricio Rodriguez), so we began to make auditions in order to find a new singer, finally we found the guy we were looking for, his name is Orlando Arevalo, (he is still in the band and give us a dark and powerful overtone). Also due to job reasons, one year later Giorgio lara got retired, leaving a hole that juan carlos castillo filled for a while, but giving a very good contribution to the band, a few months later was Mauricio bello who took the same decision as the others and leave the project, giving the chance to Fabio, making a new line up :

In the year 2004, soulburner had a great challenge, to open the show for dismember, a very good Swedish band, putting the name of concepcion, (our city) , and the band very high. After that successful journey, the band decided to stop playing for a long period of time, in that way we will have more time to work in the new tracks or songs of the album. In this period Fabio returned to Germany ( he was born there) and mauricio bello comes back to form the current composition of the band:

In the years 2005-2006 soulburner Works very hard in the composition of the songs, and after long journeys of rehearsals find the final line that identify and make the difference between the typical Chilean death metal.


In the first semester of the year 2006 make the recording in the mono blindado studios, in Santiago, chile, it was almost a professional one, what it means a great stuff, because for a Chilean band, to make music in this country is a difficult task, but with a strong determination to make it.


During the 2 nd semester of 2006 the e.p is done and launched to be saled, having a good reception from the Chilean bangers, press and common audience.

After the launching of the e.p. we played in many small shows, and in all of them we made a good impression to the public. The last one was in January 20 with the Colombian band souledge and it was in this show when soulburner proved that the band was growing in all the aspects, stage and music giving to the audience a new sound and material.

After the successful presentation a new change came to soulburner, juan carlos was forced to leave the band, a great guitarist, but he wasnt agree with the concept of soulburner, we wish him the best of the lucks in all his musical proyects.

After that episode, a new search began, it didnt take too long, that was because an old pal of the band, ruben romero, take the job immediately, strarting the rehearsals and learning very fast every song of soulburner.

La historia de SOULBURNER comienza aproximadamente el ao 1997 en la ciudad de Concepcion, VIII region de Chile cuando cinco amigos cada uno con su propia banda se unen y deciden empezar a cultivar un estilo que por esos aos no era tan masivo, y comienzan a plasmarlo en ON HELL banda Death metal Melodica que fue una mixtura del sonido Sueco (At The Gates, Inflames) con el Sonido Schuldiner (Death)
1era formacion:

Sus primeros recitales fueron un exito siendo muy bien recibidos por el publico y quedando en la retina o en la conciencia colectiva de este ya con el nombre SOULBURNER que todos conocen, siendo su primer desafio tocar lejos de la ciudad que los vio nacer(concepcion), este lugar fue Santiago de Chile y Valparaiso, teloniando a la banda Undercroft con mas de 800 personas de pblico que para esos tiempos (1999 aprox.) era bastante para estos jovenes todava inexpertos. Despues de estos recitales el nombre y la musica de la banda se hizo mas conocida en el ambiente metalero nacional.
SOULBURNER siguio su camino en recitales de todo tipo y en varias ciudades hasta que Mauricio Rodriguez se retira de la banda dejando el puesto para Orlando Arevalo actual vocalista quien le da unos tintes mas sombrios a Soul. Tambien por razones laborales un ao mas tarde (2002 aprox.) se retira Giorgio Lara dejando el puesto para Juan Carlos Castillo quien tambien aporta actualmente al desarrollo de la banda, luego unos meses mas tarde Mauricio Bello se retira por razones personales dando espacio a Fabio quedando asi una nueva formacion de la banda.

Pronto vendra un desafio aun mayor para SOULBURNER el ser teloneros en Concepcion de nada mas y nada menos que la banda Sueca DISMEMBER (2004) dejando bien puesto el nombre de su ciudad y de la banda. Despues de este exito la banda decide no tocar mas por un tiempo largo para asi trabajar en la composicion de temas para su disco. En este lapso hay varios cambios de integrantes quedando eien up asi

SOULBURNER la banda mixtura entre un sonido brutal y tecnico-melodico sigue aprendiendo y trabajando para pronto plasmar en su disco debut lo que mejor saben hacer, musica que incinerara para siempre sus almas.
