BIOGRAPHY:

"Sorrow" is defined as: deep distress, sadness, or regret. It defines "Storm" as: to make a mass attack against, to rush along furiously. When both words are combined, a good sentence would be: To create a campaign of mass attack against an enemy, out of deep distress. This reveals the mission of Sorrowstorm as a musical project. Since the year 2000, it has been struggling to survive and continuing the oppression and onslaught of spiritual enemy strongholds while fostering an atmosphere of victory, healing, and power. It has experienced mostly times of difficulty, trials, and obstacles of many kinds, but has passed every single one with many more to come. The reason for its existence is a strong calling to exist and reside in the unblack (Christian Black Metal Style) underground in the United States. The reason for Sorrowstorm to continue its fight is Hope, Strength, and Perseverance.

As this Storm destroys spiritual empires and powers who reign over this world, it strives to leave some of this Strength and Hope behind for others to capture, thus feeding future leaders to come. To this Storm of distress, there is no end. It was put into motion and its boundaries are non-existent. Who knows what changes this music and scene will make and who it will change. As long as it is endorsed by Christ, it will do so with certainty. This Storm is filled with life.

Dysmorphic Records, the main producer of this band, has made it a task to use sophisticated advertising, distribution, and promotion to make the best of the underground metal experience to get Sorrowstorm products into peopleshands. Ogrustorm began Sorrowstorm as a solo-project. It recorded and Produced a debut album "Caverns of Grief," and later a 3 song EP entitled "Funeral Oath" Caverns of Grief was the first black metal full length production in the history of Panama. It was distributed in many countries. For a Christian unBlack band, this is a miraculous feat. Ogrustorm, at the time, did not know the plans that were ahead for Sorrowstorm, which would temporarily terminate the solo-status of the project for a year.

In 2002, after the separation of Ogrustorms old band Ministros del Santuario, a few members of this band decided to play live in a major event in Panama with Sorrowstorm. I was forced to play drums and lead vocals. The show was met with great success and so in 2003, Sorrowstorm decided to tour the small republic. The tour was incredibly successful, and coincided with the release of the "Funeral Oath" EP. Always striving to use sophisticated promotion in the media and forming favorable relationships with such, the band always stayed on top. It was bold in its Christian mission, and was extremely controversial due to the strong impact it had on the metal scene.

Much hatred was manifested against us (especially me) from all four corners of the world and many tried to derail it with words. The truth is, the more resistance the enemy (Satan) established, the more God used Sorrowstorm to achieve amazing victories in His name. As a result of hard work and dedication, Sorrowstorm was nominated for the Panamarock hard music grammys 2003; the only Christian metal band ever to be nominated for this award. Our last show was in that same year and was nostalgic for us and our supporters. Since then, Sorrowstorm went back to solo-project status and will remain this way.

We have sure suffered and toiled in our mission throughout the years but the seed that was spread will not return void. Many have changed their perception of Christians, Christianity, and Christian hard metal. It has and will produce fruit and incredible growth. Of this there is no doubt. Sorrowstorm (Ogrustorm) plans to move to the United States in 2007 to operate with more effectiveness inside the unblack movement.

Hails.
