Sophist are a three piece band from West Chester Pa. Starting as a side project, Sophist was founded in 2008. The band started with an alternative sound that soon evolved into the distinctive sound it is today with the help from its first and only drummer. It wasn't long before Sophist became characterized by its distorted sound with influences in hardcore, alternative, southern rock, and indie music. With a lack of concern for traditional song writing and recording, Sophist has paved their own path artistically while keeping an attitude that is apathetic toward negative criticism. Love it or Hate it; Sophist is a band that simply shoots for a unique sound along with any excuse to slam down on their instruments.
