Self-taught musician Chris Brumbaugh makes music that people like. Focusing on non-traditional folk music, or Alt. Folk, he creates music that is simple but music that is still able to capture the attention of his audience. He accomplishes this with interesting chord progressions, poignant lyrics, and breaks of musical interludes that allow the music to speak for itself.
Says Brumbaugh of his music: Emotion and feeling should not only be expressed in the form of lyrics, but should be backed up with music that accentuates and expands on the words. If you can't feel the song you are listening to, then what is the point of listening to it?
It is clear that there is substance, experience, and emotion behind every song.
