A lineup change in October 2004 brought founding members of sleepcomesdown Kristofer Taylor (bass, vocals) and Danny Strash (guitar, vocals) together with Steve Ruppa (guitar) and Tim Feret (drums), both ex-members of midwest mainstays notaword and polymer. A new sonic direction incorporating influences such as shiner, no knife, failure and unwound was quickly forged. Together their combined performance history has seen them share the stage with shiner, alkaline trio, thursday, dismemberment plan, elliott, duvall, ultimate fakebook, hot rod circuit, gloria record, appleseed cast, someday i, sleeping at last, brandtson, juliana theory, and the list goes on with countless other talented respected bands.

Listening to sleepcomesdown's recorded offerings of controlled chaos peppered with feedback, textured guitars, vamping rhythms and dynamic, urgent vocals, you quickly realize this band knows what they want and how to achieve it. To experience all this harnessed in an intense live show is to understand that this band is not about their history, but about the future.

Since October 2004 the newly reformed sleepcomesdown has played shows with the life and times, temper temper, riddle of steel, centaur, russian circles, bear claw, el oso and red knife lottery. They will be recording a full length CD this winter with Matt Talbot, at great western studios in Champaign IL. Summer touring and regional shows will follow to support the new release in early summer of 2006.
