SILENCE BREAKS was formed in August 2004 by vocalist and guitarist Sam Mountain, and former guitarist Mason Hensley (now of Midnight in Montreal). In April 2006, after two years of writing and rehearsing material, drummer Michael Vacio and bassist Blake Chapman joined the band.

After playing a handful of shows around the Pomona area, SILENCE BREAKS began recording their first 4-song EP which was released in August 2006. After the EP release, and a few more shows, guitarist Mason Hensley left the band. He was replaced in December 2006 by guitarist Mark Reynolds.

In January 2007, SILENCE BREAKS entered the studio to record a new 9-song EP. The new EP, entitled "Event:Reborn", was finished and released in July 2007.

During 2007, SILENCE BREAKS played various shows around the Pomona and Los Angeles areas including performing with LA bands, UN:ARMED, Immune, and Rayah, New England rockers Shattersphere, and Irelend's Mike Got Spiked.

In April 2008, SILENCE BREAKS recorded and released a new EP entitled "Say Goodbye".
