Shakespeare once said "it is not in the stars that hold our destiny, but in ourselves and in many ways Shortcomings has lived with this in mind. Knowing that if all they want in life is to play their music, they must somehow gather the strength to leave everything behind and set forth a journey that only they can wield.

The humble beginnings of Shortcomings are like most bands. A group of friends getting together to imitate some of their favorite bands while in the process realizing that this is too much fun to give up. During that process the task of playing drums fell upon to many drummers none of which were able to wield the drums sticks. One of the drummers happens to be a best friend from childhood, and over the months he missed practices and cancelled shows. The band went back and forth deciding whether or not to ask him to leave the band. In the end the band sacrifice their loyalty for the better of the band and the loyalty to a dream. Shortcomings met their current drummer in school. He possessed the skills and talent that the band had been searching for. With the band adding that final piece to the puzzle and the puzzle now being complete Shortcomings set out to pursue their journey.

While Shortcomings may have had similar beginnings to other bands, they are completely different from them. Shortcomings enjoy playing shows so much they will play anywhere anytime. On more than one occasion Shortcomings have played in front of crowds that dont appreciate the music being brought to them. But rest assured that by the end of the night Shortcomings will have won them over with their stage performance. No band has more fun, more energy than this band here. When one sees Shortcomings on stage what they see is four band brothers brought together by their love of music. They see lead singer/ rhythm guitarist Daniel with his heart on his sleeves screams and his penchant for haunting riffs, they see bassist Tony bouncing off the walls like Roger Rabbit energizing the crowd, they see lead guitarist Carlos wailing on his guitar focusing on the task at hand and finally they see the drummer, Jebuz beating the drums like they owe him money keeping the band on the same beat.

On many occasions when asked what kind of sound Shortcomings is people will give off different kinds of answers. Anything ranging from the passion and revolutions of Thrice and Death by Stereo to the punk roots of AFI and Bigwig, Shortcomings has always remain true to what they believe in, making good music that they enjoy to play. This band is unlike any other, they put their hearts into the music, they live, eat, and sleep this band, to them the journey is long and perilous but one that will lead them to greatness.
