Members: Aaron Meyers, Lewis Meyers, Jonathan Burton & Aaron Thomas
Having evolved from a diverse musical background, SHIFTCHANGE is as much a musical vision as it is a band. While the group is rooted in alternative rock, this creative force introduces nuances of pop, electronica, R&B, and British rock with an effortless originality. Atmospheric, melodic strains fill lyrics of heartache, doubt, faith and romance, while epic soundtracks span thundering anthems and sincere confessions. The band has quickly earned a sing-along relationship with their fans; a connection founded more on captivating performances than on-stage antics. "I want people to feel like they can live in our music." says Lewis. A live performance is more than simply a "show" to the members of SHIFTCHANGE, but rather an opportunity to touch listeners with a message of hope in an industry where too often lyrics of negativity and despair prevail. "We want to return to music with a purpose, coming out of a sincere heart." Aaron summarizes.
After several mini-tours of the southeastern United States and a twenty-seven day tour of Venezuela and Honduras, SHIFTCHANGE has taken the past three months to begin recording their latest album and preparing for an extensive touring schedule this year. Their recent time in the studio has produced a 4 song EP that truly conveys the vision of the band, while simultaneously revealing their diverse musical palette. Help Me, an energetic, piano driven tune, evokes the theme of hope in times of self-doubt and soul searching; Out on the ocean, slowly drowning but hoping. Almost ethereal in melody, Good Luck touches on the joys and heartaches of love and relationships. While the intimate yet poignant rock ballad Heaven speaks of searching for direction in a world of confusion. Sing for Love is an emotionally delicate yet powerful anthem about the power of love and how it prevails through all things.
At the core of the Nashville based quartet is their faith. Our relationship with God is evident in our music because it is the cornerstone of who we are; not only as a band, but as individuals, explains Jonathan. We are Christian by faith, not genre. The Bible says to go out into the world and we dont want to be confined by stereotypical labels.
