Shery: "El amor es un fantasma"

For now, let's just say my name is Shery, and I'm new in the industry. My musical career is just begining.... I did my first solo concert only 6 months ago.

I'm from Guatemala, the country of Ricardo Arjona. My first album is now cooking... I've written so far 8 of the 12 - 14 songs I plan to include. It's scheduled for June 2006 as an independent production, unless of course a record label gets in my way. As odd as it sounds, I've not yet begun to shop for a label. But I know I must start soon....

I writte all my songs (lyrics and music), and love every minute of it. My first single ("El amor es un fantasma", which in English means "Love is a Ghost"), debuted with 26 straight weeks in the Guatemalan Top 40. According to a major newspaper, in November 2005 it topped the radio charts as the number 1 national favorite, followed by songs from other Latin pop artists such as Benny Ibarra, Shakira, Lena, Patricia Loaiza, RBD and Elefante. A couple of my songs are also featured in GarageBand.com, a cool site for independent bands and artists. A few days ago "El Amor es un Fantasma" managed to climb to the No. 3 position in their Latin chart, and was declared "Latin Track of the Week". It has also received several awards in the Latin category such as "Best Female Vocals", "Best Production", "Best Melody", "Best Guitars" and "Best Mood".

Remember this is just the single (well, actually it contains two songs, including "Libre"). The full album will not be available until June 2006...
