A songwriter from a young age, Shay Smith has experimented with different styles of music and constantly seeks to expand his artistic horizons. His obsessive-compulsive desire to create music with substantial meaning and strong resistance to becoming "just another guy playing acoustic covers in a coffee shop" have limited the outlets for his development as a live musician, but this has not kept him from making music and growing as a songwriter.
After years of writing, Shay is finishing his first full-length release, "The Lover." Filled with songs of reflection and proclamations for change, "The Lover" depicts a young man's transition from an ignorant adolescent into a seeker of true love.
