Through the cut throat storm of "heavy" music "Shatter The Reason" is breaking through destroying the invisible borders that separate rock into catergories. Formed one snowy day in March of 2005, they are a five piece powerhouse consisting of Sean Northup (Vocals), Jason Briant (Guitars), Jeff Northup (Bass), and Byron LaPola (Drums) and newest addition Tom Chachaj (Guitars). After many projects that seemed stagnant, or cut short, the members all hailing from different types of influence came together with the same ambitions of world domination, and through this union created S.T.R. the most infectious blend of metal, hardcore, screamo, punk, and just plain rock to never leave your head. After just two months of being solidified, they released a three song demo which was distributed free, and two months later released a 5 song E.P. independantly. In May of 2005 Shatter The Reason played their first show, which was hugely successful, and landed their second show ever at the "legendary" Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. Since then they have played numerous venues throughout the East Coast capturing crowds, leaving impressions, and infecting the heads of all that attend with their catchy riffs, heartfelt lyrics, drifty melodies, and chest thumping breakdowns. After a short hiatus, and a little bit of member scrambling, Shatter The Reason has returned to the scene and is prepared to dominate all over again. With the recent addition of Tom Chachaj replacing former guitarist Flip Reda (We still LOVE Flip! We always will! Good Luck brother!!!), Shatter The Reason is once again solid. The live show is truly an energy packed sight to be seen, and an experience you wouldn't soon forget... Currently Shatter The Reason has hit the studio once again to restart work on their first full length release. The C.D. will consist of re-recorded versions of early production songs, and lots of new material. The album is expected to be released in the late winter/early spring of 2008.
