-Consisting of Guitarist/vocalist Michael Hapner and Drummer Daniel Clarkson, after the inevitable move of bassist Josh Minnich to Chicago, Secret Of The Early is a duo with two goals: speading the gospel of Christ, and doing so through a dynamic mix of driving, southern, and alt rock styles. Putting huge amounts of effort into song structure, flow, composition, and lyricism, we aim to reach the audiences that really need to hear the message being spoken, not just already sanctified believers. Relevant to youth and adult listeners both secular and Christian, the music opposes but at the same time recognizes the temptations and pitfalls faced by the groups above in our self centered, pleasure driven world as well as illustrate faith in a way relevent to the lives of listeners. In writing music easily accessible and relatable to, we also hope to convey those same traits in the character of Jesus as well as help get the word out that a life in Christ isn't a burden...it's joy.
"How can one speak of pain till they have first felt it's sharp bite?
And how many have denied the existence of true love, never having felt love's sweet touch?
How then can one argue that Christ is not God when they dont care to discover that His promises hold true, and that Grace; definite, and beautifully unmistakable could change their corrupt hearts?"

-This Heart Of Mine was written about the realization that our hearts are naturally sinful, as in Romans 7 when Paul says what he wants to do he doesn't and what he doesn't want to do he does. Only when we honestly give ourselves to Christ are we saved by his beautiful grace; our slate wiped clean, and our souls free of
the burden of guilt. (John 3:16)
Check out Milefive, http://www.purevolume.com/milefive, these guys are pretty much the reason I decided to put God first in my music and sparked a new depth in my relationship with Christ. God definitely put them in my life for a reason, although they still have a stern talkin' to comin' fer kicking us out of the sanctuary while we were practicing so they could play too many times to count.
