In the summer of 2004, Kris Alvarez started a band called Below Average. This band consisted of six people, one bassist, one drummer, and four guitarists. As the summer went on, little by little the band started to weaken and members began to leave. The band had gone from 6 to the 3, two guitarists and one bassist. In a last effort attempt to save the band, the 2nd guitarist Mikel found a drummer for them, his name was Hector. About a week after Hector joined, their bassist quit. In December of that year, Kris searched for a new bassist and that's when he met Ihosvanni through his band teacher. Then in January, 1st 2005 Mikel quit the band. Since that day they have been a three-piece band. The band got the name Sad, Sexy, Stupid when Kris was talking to his friend on an online chat. Once the new band got its name, they made their first demo on April 30th. It was a three track demo with the songs ADD, Jet Plane, and Only On Tuesdays. They began to sell the demo out for $3.00 each and managed to make $162 by the end of June. With that money they made their 2nd demo. About a month after their 2nd demo, Hector departed from the band and they were still one guitar short. In search of a new guitarist, Kris found Pablo and Pablo suggested his friend Alan for drums. They had about a couple of jam sessions with the new guys and they all hit it off right away. Now, they're doing shows and making Garage and Alternative music that's influenced by bands such as The Strokes, Interpol, and Kings of Leon.
